As of next year, Belgian-bred, London-based label R&S Records will have been on the scene for 30 years, and the long-running dance imprint will celebrate that milestone with a compilation. It will release 30 Years of R&S Records digitally on October 21.

The tracklist spans the label's lengthy history and also includes material from R&S's imprint Apollo Records. The comp mixes classic material with modern faves, with some notable acts including Aphex Twin, James Blake, μ-Ziq, DJ Krush, Airhead, Joey Beltram, Alex Smoke, Biosphere, Toshinori Kondo, Jaydee and Tree

Interestingly, the songs are presented alphabetically, rather than chronologically. See the tracklist below. All this will cost just $7.99 on iTunes.

Looks great, but that reads like a distinctly non-FLAC offering to me :cerious:

Good to know, thanks for sharing!

*doffs cap*

No problem :) And it's not even more expensive than the mp3-version. Quite nice.

On an (almost) related note, does anyone know the track "Orpheus" by Pariah? Got it once from a $1 R&S sampler at Bleep, and it's really great. Sadly have not spotted another Pariah track yet that I like as much, but I guess there must be some?

Dunno about Pariah, try Pangaea.

"Orpheus" is a gorgeous work. It's from this EP: http://www.discogs.com/Pariah-Detroit-Falls-Orpheus/release/2234497

There is a bit more work from him, but the quality is a bit hit or miss.

Amazing compilaton anyway, good to have r&s back!

Glad I'm not the only one with a weakness for that "Orpheus" track :) Giving the 6-track Safehouses EP another listen soon.

I like the Pangaea I've listened to, maybe I should check out more of it. Thanks.

Pariah is also half of Karenn. Quite different, still quality.

Not that this should turn in to a Pariah thread, but I listened to the "Safehouses" EP on Spotify today, and it's actually great - some tracks have an "Orpheus" vibe to them. (BTW, this post is even marginally related to the thread's subject, the R&S compilation, since the track Prism is both on the compilation and on that Pariah EP :-))

As for Karenn, I listened to their Boiler Room set some months ago, and it rocked :-) Thanks for reminding me.
