Christ almighty I feel old.

Don't worry Josh-o, at least you're not part of a generation of iPad wielding maniacs.

^I'm not really that old. Just like, beginning to get a preview of feeling that way.

So here's the thing, most of the albums I love from 2001 I didn't even know existed back then. So I'll let others post them.

It's surreal for me to think about what I was aware of back when I was 15. I wasn't aware of so much music and likewise not a music fanatic whatsoever. Hell, I was just beginning to discover my parents old Beatles and Pink Floyd albums. With few exceptions everyone in school listened to Korn, Limp Bizkit, and super mainstream hip-hop. Most music I heard was off of Playstation, Gameboy, movie soundtracks, Weezer - Blue Album and my dad's old cassettes. I'm only going to post the albums I actually were aware of back in 2001, two of which I wasn't even able to listen to until I got them years later (Daft Punk and Avalaches) but fondly recall their singles being played in MTV in the UK:

Radiohead - Amnesiac

Gorillaz - Gorillaz

Avalanches - Since I Left You

Daft Punk - Discovery

Tenacious D - Self-titled

I also listened to the following mediocre albums: R.E.M. - Reveal, Weezer - self-titled, Basement Jaxx - Rooty, Butthole Surfers - Weird Revolution, Toadies - Hell Below/Stars Above (big album in Texas, a bit underrated actually and the band broke up not long after)

Some great fairly mainstream rock albums most won't mention included Jimmy Eat World - Bleed American, System of a Down - Toxicity, Appleseed Cast - Low Level Owl and White Stripes - White Blood Cells, Incubus - Morning View, Muse - Origin of Symmetry, Travis - The Invisible Band, Blink-182 - Take Off Your Pants and Jacket, Sleepytime Gorilla Museum - Grand Opening and Closing, Fugazi - The Argument

Realizing that Clouddead and Prefuse 73 released insanely influential albums that year too.

Fennesz, Endless Summer

Not sure how I missed this. Must have labeled it 2000 by accident. That'll definitely be replacing the Dan Abrams album.
