"2011's fractured and tripped out full length GLAQJO XACCSSO was highly praised across experimental avant circles from The Wire to DAZED, identifying patten as a unique voice emanating from an intersection between a number of London's underground scenes."

"Since then, converse to expectation, no further recorded work has been heard from patten, concentrating instead on playing live and producing a handful of highly distinctive, idiosyncratic remixes. Known for developing new trajectories for recordings in the live environment, it seems that the past two years have been fruitful, seeing his ever-complex sound morph and splinter further with every performance."

"patten is announced to play live at Warp x Tate taking place at Tate Britain on Friday 6th December. Presented by Late at Tate Britain, Warp x Tate is a free evening of performance and installations from Warp Records and artist Jeremy Deller, inspired by Deller’s work ‘The History of the World’."

Excellent signing. When I first heard "Ice" I thought it was one of the most forward-thinking and developed songs I had heard in a long time.

I listened to it nonstop in 2011, but I thought they were milking it with those remix releases.

This will probably be an instant buy for me.

What a grouping of stuff. A Yin Yang gif and a scholarly article on zoning out.

sounds cool, i wonder what it would sound like as just a bare composition though without all the massive effects loaded up on it.

of course that's the fun, but pretty much this.

"I wonder what that synthesizer would sound like without all those FILTERS on it."

--in electronic music, the effects are the composition--
