I just stumbled across this one on Boomkat. New skam, but no samples.

Here's the Soundcloud for the group: https://soundcloud.com/phonoghosts

Does anybody know about this group? It sounds promising!

Phono Ghosts = Meatbingo = Neil Scrivin (friend of VHS Head)

Here's an official music video for one of his songs:

I'm a sucker for Skam releases, so I'll definitely be getting this one. I like that they have a slow trickle of very high quality releases. Hopefully they get around to releasing Bola's new album one of these days; he's been stringing us along for too long.

Now Kris just needs a Skam release.

WATMM asked for a Skam release of Meatbingo, and it manifested.

I now call forth, a White Mask 12" on Skam. Make it so, Skam.

total agreement. Kris, you know I've been telling you to put something in our hands! Even if it's just bandcamp!

Heh, I just need to make some tracks I'm happy with first.

Having your brother and friend release quality stuff kind of heaps on the expectations, and doesn't make it any easier - especially when technically out of the three of us, I have the least free time and least technical knowledge. I did however pick up some rather nice HS 80M monitor speakers last month, so you never know...

Anyway this is a thread about Chrome Position and how good it is, right?

Where did you find this track you speak of?

It was on soundcloud. It was a super chill vaguely sinister boards of canada ish track, like something off of IABPOITC. Really nice.

I'll ask on the facebook phono ghosts page where it went

This passed me by until today, just saw it in the Blerp mailer and after a quick listen I'm sold, sounds great.

Sorry to hear that, osc... when I ordered mine it was 'in stock' but going back to the product page, it shows 'Available for you to buy, but we need to order it in first.' Fingers crossed I SKAMmed the last copy in the warehouse.

they're not available at all direct from Skam, according to their shop. Royal Mail had better not have lost mine.

To be honest I feel a little underwhelmed by this. I'll not give up on it just yet though. And osc, it may or may not be some consolation but I had a dispatch email for the Canonbury cassette about a month ago. Just about given it up for dead when it arrived yesterday.

By the way, these cardboard cases are a pain in the arse to open.

Phono Ghosts returns with ‘Photons in Fashion’ featuring eight new tracks of intricately spliced tape samples, continuing the psychedelic eclectic sound that marked out his previous releases on Fonolith (Solar Dream Reel) and Skam (Chrome Position).

Over 30 minutes, ‘Photons in Fashion’ careers between the forceful ‘80s digi-funk blast of ‘Cassential’, space-lounge groove of ‘Binary Dynamics’ and hypnotic disco of the title track; progressing through to the brooding ‘Dramakai’ and slinky fretless bass of ‘Observatory of the Soul’, interspersed with dream-like fragmentary interludes, before closing out with the idiosyncratic synth bleeping of ‘Hear Me Read My Genetic Chirpy Chip’.

This release supposedly comes from Neil Scriven, close friend of fellow nostalgic samplist VHS Head. I'm becoming a big fan of the sound the Blackpool boys are creating. The release date says 2010, but I definitely haven't crossed this before in my travels so maybe it has only been posted recently...
