Guest Posted December 22, 2013 Share Posted December 22, 2013 Godel, Gonna bite that bait, but the media portrayal of 21-12-12 as "the end of world" was just a fear mongering campaign by corporate media, which it has been on for the last decade or so. Also, people are keenly interested in anything that has to do with something that can lead to death or destruction (just take a look at the amount of people slowing down when they see a car crash), which explains the rise of readers on the subject. The "end" of the calender was nothing more than an end of the era, after which a new era follows. Currently, we are at the beginning of that new age. Rejoice! The fun fact lies in the fact that the book has a character unironically named... Titty Walker. The fun fact would have ended there, were it not for someone writing this on the wikipedia page: Titty Walker Able Seaman of the Swallow.
