Can we talk about Amber?

Lost in Amber

Recommended Posts

This is consistantly in my top 3 albums autechre has produced. Silverside, Slip, Piezo, Further, and Teartear are absolute classics and they never get old for me. The first 3 and last 3 tracks are damn perfect in succession. Anyone else feel this way?

i feel like its a shame that some of the big huge 'fat' analog sounds you hear on this album seem to have been totally abandoned by ae, maybe with some rare exceptions. instead most of their sounds are cold, metallic, precise, etc. yet i think it'd maybe be cool if they had a nice combination of both going, have those two types of sounds juxtaposed.

anyway yeah i think this might be in my top 3 or 4 also.

Listening to this album on acid changed the album forever, for the better. It's psychedelic as fuck, especially Slip and Nine (which, during my trip, sounded like the letter K, and still does, somehow).

Also, the end of Piezo is one of the most beautiful pieces of electronic music I've ever heard.

Great album. Still my least favorite.

lol

I haven't listened to it in ages. Silverside stood out the most for me, but Montreal is lush too.

Teartear is one of my favorite closers for an album. The way that ominous phat synth starts the ball rolling. The tempo change. Ugh... now I need to go listen to Amber again.

Slip is beautiful.

Yesh.

I did a remix of Slip for an ae remix contest like 10 years ago, when xltronic was functional.

Good times.

Good track.
