Some good stuff in this thread: as in any genre you have to go digging for the worthwhile stuff so I am glad you've all done it for me. The EPROM track is especially excellent, and enjoying the swung percussion and syncopation of the Flosstrodamus track. I enjoy the bassline thuds in this style of music.

When I hear something like Gucci Mane it doesn't appeal to me so much.

DJ Shadow was infamously kicked off the decks in a Miami nightclub playing this, fucking awesome tune.

 

TOO FUTURE!!! Great track though ;p

I enjoyed Eprom - Metahuman just now. There are some nice synth and rhythmic things that happen but the album could really be called "just beats."


Not a whole lot of substance in the genre...

yeah or variation. Nobody cares about interesting—or even good—sound design anymore!
