/sales plummet, marvel back tracks.

These books are male fantasy, i don't see why they need to pander to a demographic that will never buy your product. nwae whatever, it's only a comic book that i don't read either, lol. That water colour in the link is okish. They did miss their chance though, she is still blonde, surely that's racist; she's ambulatory, well that's discriminatory; she probably eats meat, doesn't worship jesus and isn't gay. Oh my.

Finally. I was waiting for a substitute for my juvenile sexist fantasy called Xena, the princess warrior. Another bitch with a banhammer.

I know its a comic book, but it is based loosely on Norse Mythology... in which case

Although our sources of information are limited, it's clear that the roles of men and women in Norse society were quite distinct. Norse society was male dominated. Each gender had a set of expected behaviors, and that line could not be crossed with impunity. I think it just as unlikely that a man would weave cloth as that a woman would participate in a Viking raid. Women did not participate in trading or raiding parties (although they clearly participated in journeys of exploration and settlement to places such as Iceland and Vínland). Women's responsibilities were clearly defined to be domestic. Members of either sex who crossed the gender line were, at very least, ostracized by society. Some cross-gender behaviors were strictly prohibited by law. The medieval Icelandic lawbook Grágás (K 254) prohibits women from wearing men's clothes, from cutting their hair short, or from carrying weapons.

fuck that shit, gods are unisex/gender and everything, and rise far above our cultural gender roles and norms. having proclaimed that, this hypersexual symbolization is a mockery.

but yeah, don't care that much to feel flushed.

Lol all the major female goddesses are depicted as virgins, objects of sex, or child bearing figures (other than Demeter).

edit: sorry, this is from greek mythology. Looking up norse and it's quite similar.

Thoress: Domestic Goddess

The comics will still be pants anyway, regardless of whether the main character is wearing them or not. It's just a short gap measure to sell an extra few copies of the 1st issue of the run before they kill off the character and go back to whatever bland story they were telling before.

i approve of this

i certainly approve of her theme song.

It's disney that owns marvel now. They probably were having a pow wow about needing a female lead that they can dump into every toy line, clothing, bedding and whatever plastic accessory they can cram down the throats of the girls of the world. And apparently thor was only major character they felt that they could comfortably retool without rocking the sales boat too hard. They couldn't give a fig about fans or cannon or mythology. And if this little ride doesn't work, someone will get fired and we'll go back to trousers thor, and leave tittie Mc time of the month (that's when the bad guys really down want to upset her (deal with it petina, oh and welcome to watmm :w00t: , you might want to read the rules, they are down the bottom right hand corner, i hope you have a nice time here)) to the dustbin of history. Maybe in 20 years the comic will become a collectors item, by then the 2 million other copies will have dwindled down to a few thousand.

Or this is completely wrong and they wanted to sex up the marvel universe, and so this whole thing was an attempt to bring boys back into buying comics instead of playing computer games. (see, just because i think something, doesn't mean that i can't think another thing, and believe that either may be right, don't pigeon hole me mutha fukaz, i'm awesome).
