lesser-known Biosphere stuff

Biosphere released 2 albums while in synthpop band Bel Canto in the late 80s:

After that he released a techno-ish album under the name Bleep:

He also did a soundtrack for Man With a Movie Camera, using the original instructions for the cinema piano player. Some of the vocal samples from Substrata can be heard.

This was released in tandem with Substrata and two Japanese bonus tracks:

So yeah Geir is a pretty cool guy.

I knew about most of these for a while, but the one that I always seemed to miss was Birmingham Frequencies with H.I.A. ( http://www.discogs.com/Higher-Intelligence-Agency-Biosphere-Birmingham-Frequencies/master/21101). Such a discovery that was after assuming you've heard everything from Geir.

Also, having started watching Twin Peaks now is also a good discovery into Biosphere samples.

A collection of his pre Bel Canto projects from around 83-84 (most notably E-man) was released on 12" a couple of years ago.

Birmingham Frequencies is great, so is Polar Sequences.

The Fires of Ork (with Namlook) is also excellent.
