Looking for cyberpunk / dystopian / sci-fi ambientish music

I started playing Android: Netrunner and I'd love to compile a playlist with fitting music.

It's an intense game with lots of strategic depth which requires a good amount of thought. This implies the music should definitely not be too demanding for the listener but rather be great in the background to set the mood.

I already thought of adding music from Loscil, Biosphere, Cliff Martinez, Tron OST,...
What else would fit in nicely? Keywords to keep in mind: sci-fi, ambient, cyberpunk, dystopia,...

It certainly doesn't have to be beatless. Gentle electronica with a gloomy sci-fi vibe would be epic!

I've started playing it too, never played Magic or anything so picking up the rules is difficult but I'm happy to persevere, whether my girlfriend will is another question.

Global Communication - Pentamerous Metamorphosis is good for us beginners, futuristic but also fairly relaxing.

I've been making mixes for a long time and have created a few ambient ones just for reading dystopian sci-fi and cyberpunk stuff. Here are a few good ones you might like, hope this helps.

Space Odyssey (based on 2001)

Thanks all for the recommendation so far. Really appreciate it! Gonna update my Spotify playlist and share that one later on in this very thread.

And wow Sparkle Motion! I've listened a lot of your mixes in the past, way before the Spotify era. I remember them as really nicely themed fluid mixes with lots of attention for detail and nice mixing of samples. It gives me deep pleasure to see you've got no less than 6 appropriate mixes for my Netrunner sessions. Thanks so much!

and if you haven't heard his All Saints (collection of instrumentals) this is a must and would fit perfectly i think: can't find the full album on yt ,but it's got stuff like:

Also Ryuichi Sakamoto, this is a fun cyberpunk - ish one from him:

Zoat Aon would be perfect for a game like this.

Anything off Halo_Gen's selftitled album would also be a good match.

I released an album not too long ago that features a lot of dystopian sounding sci-fi ambient tracks, downloadable for free on bandcamp. The tracks that most fit that description are: Shivering Towers, The Vanishing, Neverealm, Deeper Down the Well and Hidden Window: http://zephyrnova.bandcamp.com/releases

Maybe MBM's more recent dubstep-influenced industrial albums - Autoimmune and Answers Come In Dreams? MBM was used in the Matrix soundtrack after all, so there might be some dystopian overlap there

Zoat Aon would be perfect for a game like this.

Reminds me of

Came into the thread on the off-chance nobody had mentioned FSOL yet - amazed that nobody has! Dead Cities and ISDN are about as cyberpunk dystopian sci-fi as you get, and often as ambient/beatless as not.

Also, A Collection of Short Stories by Reload.

Also, A Collection of Short Stories by Reload.

Possibly my all-time fav album

Actually, that album makes generous use of THX 1138 samples - which makes me think, something like the THX 1138 background sounds might be fun - just a mix of wire static, beeps and garbled radio chatter. About as bleak and dystopian as you get

Also good shout on FSOL
