florida's bad right now. 250 dead in a day, they're approaching ny at its peak, when it's estimated around 1 in 5 people had it in a month or two in the city. 6000+ dead so far in FL.

OCALA, Fla. – As the city of Ocala wrestles with an ordinance requiring face coverings for people inside businesses, Marion County Sheriff Billy Woods told his employees they will not wear masks at work, and visitors to his office can’t wear masks either.

Woods, in an email dated Aug. 11, said "my order will stand as is when you are on-duty/working as my employee and representing my Office – masks will not be worn."

Ocala City Council passed an emergency ordinance last week requiring people to wear masks inside businesses. Mayor Kent Guinn vetoed it Monday and the council will meet Wednesday to consider overriding the veto.

Marion County set a single-day record on Tuesday for the most deaths related to COVID-19, with 13 more deaths reported.

Conspiracy theorist (i.e. truth speaker & the most banned person on the internetLaura Loomer has decisively won the Republican primary for the U.S. House of Representatives seat that represents President Trump's Mar-a-Lago club in Florida.

she had claimed there was election fraud 2 days ago- which then would mean she shouldn't have won right?

well it was either her, a stripper, or a host of other Floridian crazies vying for a piece of the mar-a-lago pie:

The six people competing in the Aug. 18 primary include a former burlesque dancer and wild animal exhibitor who did business in the same circles as “Tiger King” Joe Exotic; a Palm Beach neighbor of Mar-a-Lago who is supported by QAnon believers; and Laura Loomer, a far-right commentator and anti-Islam activist who calls herself “the most banned woman on the Internet” and who once handcuffed herself to the front door of Twitter’s office in New York.

There’s also an ex-cop, a nuclear engineer-turned college professor and a retired investigator for the IRS.

Among the constituents they hope to represent: the president and first lady. The Trumps registered as Republicans in Palm Beach County in October when President Trump changed his official domicile from Manhattan to his Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach. They both voted by mail in the March presidential primary.

it also seems she had quite a lot of prominent support:

She celebrated her victory at a party alongside prominent far-right extremists, according to the Palm Beach Post. Among the party guests were longtime Trump adviser Roger Stone, convicted last year of witness tampering and lying to Congress; disgraced former Breitbart columnist Milo Yiannopoulos; and Gavin McInnes, the founder of the neo-fascist street gang the Proud Boys.
