Apparently he was one of the few people rationalizing the assumption that that Sci-Rem track was the comp track (based on the fact that shortly after the competition Vibert played a set for Breezeblock full of his own stuff + only one unreleased Aphex-like track), considering how for example there are no Sci-Fi Staircase elements at all in that track. edit2: wait I see its called spiral staircase not scifi, are there 2 different remixes then? Spiral staircase was added later, like he did with other tracks on the SC (adding 'brainfloss mix' or 'pump up the jam mix'). Clearly asking for a handwriting sample and then immediately following that a bandcamp popping up sort of using handwriting as authenticity is pretty gdam fishy. He's asking the very people who would actually give a shit enough to use handwriting to verify legitimacy for samples, and then a day later hoping that these same people don't put 2 and 2 together? Any legitimacy gained by using "real-ish" handwriting is totally nullified by the fact that he asked for it right prior. I couldn't make that sort of music, I only make what naturally comes out although I saw the pull of a good trolling a while ago. I like to take the piss so trolling uptight people can be very appealing. ;) I'd like to ask though. In that list, how many people claimed to be aphex? Ok, some are obviously trying to hold on to these SC coat tails but surely most are just there, sounding slightly like him and you lot are bringing them into it? If you cared so much about the authenticity that you wanted to play "forensics" (and then fail at seeing its fake, ignore everyones debunkery, and kept implying its real), then why do you *now* suddenly stop caring if it's real or not? By pushing and praising that bandcamp (which what most of your posts have focused on), you have (unwittingly or not) supported scammers who are bigger knobheads than me in every sense of the word, so don't be surprised when people tell you to fuck off. Remember, the main SC dump thread was initially the 'mysterious afx soundcloud thread' full of fakes, so it COULD turn out into something worthwile once every 30 years or so...That said, it wouldn't hurt if the new users would read the rules, because like triachus posted above, I occassionaly posted a warning to post those fakes elswehere (in this thread) which Monsieur and a handful of others disregarded. More of those posts in the other threads can expect their posts to be removed and given a warning. As we can't keep track of everything, please report anything if you think that is justified. My best advice for Monsieur is to ignore the fakes and focus on the stuff that is legit. Anyway, it's a real bloody shame that both Synthtopia AND Fact Magazine are reporting on these fakes.
