Bleep seems pretty cool in my book so far. I had Syro hit before the official release and got CCAI pt2 the day of. Didn't get the physical format for this single but it's nice to hear they were sending it to most of you guys early and allowed me to download it according to the UK timezone.

As for the single MARCHROMT30A was one of my absolute favorites and definitely deserved getting some spotlight. The other tracks are kinda meh but whatever, it's only a single anyways. If MARCHROMT30A was brand new to me I'd probably be pretty psyched right now. Casual fans should really enjoy this, whereas dorks like myself have nearly worn it out before first listen. I'm starting to warm up to the faster version but the alternate XMASEVET doesn't really do anything for me at all.

So, counting Marchromt30 as part of the base album, this makes four additional tracks for SYRO now, right? Marchromt38, Xmas_evet1, Circlont4a, and Circlont10a. Don't think I'm missing anything.

Where do you get Circlont4a, and Circlont10a from??

the re-master on MARCHROMT30a Edit 2b 96 sounds really nice. and the fast version is nuts, so many little tweaks and additions, think i might prefer it actually. XMAS_EVET1 N is so smooth and chilled out, really loving those robo drums..

thanks mr. jams

p.s. more minipops please

who mastered the japanese bonus track? sounds way better than the one that originally appeared only as a japanese bonus. It almost sounds like a rerecording but I don't think it is

don't they have to mix the track differently for the vinyl version? Maybe thats why

Listen to the lovely stereo field at the beginning of the Beau Thomas version, completely missing from heavily compressed previous version

yeah the new version isn't a re-record by the sounds of it but a different master. if you bring the volume of the jap syro cd down a few steps they end up sounding same volume, only the new EP version has much louder bass and subtleties going on that get totally washed out in the syro cd version. new mastering is muuuuuuch better *u* *thumbs up*

Finally gave this a listen...

MARCHROMT30a - This was always one of my favourite/most-played Syro tracks, so no surprises here (except for the subtle mastering tweaks). It's still killer and I'm glad it's finally getting the recognition it deserves, other than just being an add-on for the Japanese edition.

XMAS_EVET1 N - One word: Lush. Definitely my personal highlight of this whole single/EP/white label release. Again, XMAS_EVET10 was one of my favourite Syro tracks, and by far the most-played (I clocked well over 100 listens for that behemoth) so I was pretty excited to hear this. Even though at its core it's still the same track, this one has completely different vibes. The robot drums sound fucking superb. So glad we can finally hear the 'metz PA break', minus the PA haha

MARCHROMT38 fast - Okay so it's not 'literally the same track sped up' but you've gotta admit it's pretty close. I'm so used to the original that this still sounds kinda disorientating and messy for me, and I still can't decide whether I dig it or not. I'm not going to dismiss it just yet. I'll still give it a chance to sink in after repeated listens, as we all know RDJ's stuff gets better with age, but right now I can't say I'm too impressed.

Overall, I think this is a nice little release for what it is. People unfamiliar with MARCHROMT30a will probably find it a lot more rewarding than anyone else. I was kinda hoping for some new material as Rich has a reputation for disguising remixes as completely different tracks, but hey, the new XMAS sounds gorgeous so I'm not disappointed!

also, there is a big difference between the sound of the analogy and the sound of the digital... but yes, i'm agree with you, it is well whether by Beau Thomas this mastering to differentiate with the cd version...

So I take it the track naming of syro might give us insight into aphex's filing system with things like 'edit-2b-96'? which for some reason i am now intrigued to know more about.

p.s marchomt might be my fave track off syro
