Pretty sure she's in cahoots with the Russian.

How come? I hadn't even considered that.

There was one scene in episode two (I think it was episode two), where the Russian takes her hand in the casino and they exchange a very familiar glance....and something in the way she acts makes me think she's been planning to screw Frank for a long time.

Frank's last dash is awesome though - he's going out in a literal blaze of glory motherfuckers.

that english guy waiting behind the door was pretty silly alright, could've done without the clichéd sex scene as well... but minor quibbles, great episode, even vince vaughn was good.

Agreed on all points.

Thought the waiting guy was silly at first and then thought there was probably one at each exit. I too thought Frank somehow already knew his missus was double crossing him when she walked into his office.

Oh i thought him getting her to come in with the dead body still there was him proving to her the severity of the situation. This whole season he's been telling her how much shit he's got into and she just goes "well let's get out, take the money and go". But there he is with his right hand man dead on the floor, shows her just how bad it is. I dunno though, maybe it is something to do with her double crossing him.

Also with the guy waiting by the door, before the two guys entered the tunnel, woodrough's friend/notreallyfriendactually said something like "don't try anything, there's eyes everywhere". So yeah i'm guessing they had people covering all the doors.

The plane tickets were out from Portland, no?

WRT the use of "up north" in the series, so far it has meant specifically Monterey and Oregon.

I never got the impression the wife was going to double cross him, but then the two actors have zero chemistry, so it's understandable if someone picks up the wrong vibe from them.

i love how this show requires community input to figure out what's going.

anyway, i didn't get any vibes that frank's wife was going to double cross him. she didn't anyway did she? i watched the show but i still had no idea what happened except frank killed some guy (who i think he found out killed someone/that latina girl?) and he let his wife know shit had hit the fan (i love you- i love you too).

what was up with mcadam's all over colin farrell? and the gay cop: so those dudes took pictures of him when he had his gay rendezvous, or did they get that gay guy to "trap" him so they could get the pictures?

Heysus Nebraska. How high are you when you watch the show? Lol. I kid I kid.

That was one of Franks top men, who had been running girls with the Russian. He also killed Stan (another one of franks men - you remember when Frank found that dude with no eyes) cause Stan was tailing him and had found out about the dirty dealings.

The Latina girl was killed by the Mexicans cause she had talked to the police.

It looks like Paul got trapped by his so-called friend. Probably a combination of some revenge for Paul trying to go "straight" and some money.

MacAdams and Farrell-two drunk people in a highly tense situation. I also felt that scene was totally unnecessary. Yeah yeah, we get it - the juxtaposition of those two with Paul - but still, fuck it was kind of a worthless scene. Mostly cause we didn't get a shot of Macadam's ass.

^^^ to be honest, i've been forcing myself to watch this show since the beginning. half the time i can't hear what people are saying (especially the conversations between frank and farrell where they're endlessly mumbling about nothing) and the other half i don't get what they're talking about (when i can hear them).

to this day i have no idea who shot colin farrell. do we know? do we care? also i don't get what vince vaughn's character is doing/wants. i know he burned a casino, but who's was it? why did he do it? did it belong to him or the russians? he's leaving for venezuela- why? coz he burned the casino or coz he killed a bunch of people?

there was a time when farrell and mcadam's found evidence of someone tortured in an outhouse (a little shed with a chair with blood on it). who was that? did they find out? do we care?

who killed the black lady? and farrell just drove off. i guess he didn't want people thinking he killed her or because he's working on this case is super low key (and only she knows?) do we know? do we care? oh, and what happened to the mayor and his drunk wife cutting up pictures in the living and fucked up kid arranging hooker parties for rich people? do we know? should we care?

btw: mcadam's had a conversation with her dad right. what were they talking about?

see what i mean. btw lol @ only 1 episode left and this thing still doesn't make an iota of sense.

My main criticism of this season, bang on.

better if it was more thought through, a 10-15 epi series as it has felt quite rushed becomin a bit of a mess about a fictional bit of land no one really cares about, skating across interesting moments which disappear into the ether.

it feels a lot shorter then series 1, but have enjoyed moments into it though & the character development, even vaughns, but over to soon. new writers for the next could be a good move if chosen right

1) To this day i have no idea who shot colin farrell. do we know? do we care?

2) Also i don't get what vince vaughn's character is doing/wants. i know he burned a casino, but who's was it? why did he do it? did it belong to him or the russians? he's leaving for venezuela- why? coz he burned the casino or coz he killed a bunch of people?

3)There was a time when farrell and mcadam's found evidence of someone tortured in an outhouse (a little shed with a chair with blood on it). who was that? did they find out? do we care?

4)Who killed the black lady? and farrell just drove off. i guess he didn't want people thinking he killed her or because he's working on this case is super low key (and only she knows?) do we know? do we care?

5) Oh, and what happened to the mayor and his drunk wife cutting up pictures in the living and fucked up kid arranging hooker parties for rich people? do we know? should we care?

6) btw: mcadam's had a conversation with her dad right. what were they talking about?

see what i mean. btw lol @ only 1 episode left and this thing still doesn't make an iota of sense.

1) We still don't know for sure, though I think it was the guy who Frank killed - I imagine we'll find out in the last episode.

2) The casino was Frank's but he had mortgaged it to buy in to the land deals. The Russians (who had a hand in killing Caspere) bought the liens on the casino and the club that Frank had borrowed against. Frank torched the casino for revenge. He's leaving for Venezuela because he's pissed off the Russians.

3) The girl tortured/murdered in the shed was another prostitute (Tasha), the one who had sent the pictures to that Mexican prostitute that Macadams was interrogating. Tasha was planning to blackmail some of the people who went to those high-end parties.

4) The same people who killed Paul probably killed the black lady, Farrell thinks they probably lifted a gun from his place and used it to frame him.

5) I don't think the drunk wife matters, but the fucked up son is one of the ones whose name is on the deeds for the development deal.

6) They talked about the group of men in the photo (who are some of the "villains" of the story), and they talked about Macadams being molested by a stranger in a van in the woods.

I thought the latest episode cleared up a lot of things really.

Yeah I got all of that.

Did I care or feel compelled at all though?

*makes comme ci comme ca gesture*

I don't understand this as a criticism - some events that are necessary to move the story forward might not be events we have to care about deeply.

agreed

too much overthinking i guess.

imo the vibe the last two episodes had are similar to the first season, and probably is what most people expected during the whole show. i think the problem is in the change of director.
