Louis Armstrong was doing Ex-Lax commercials, mass-produced muzak, cornball big-band music (talk about shitty dance music), a sort-of proto-trustafarianism with embarrassingly-white dudes trying to look, sound and act like beat poets and jazz musicians, etc etc Anyway, my point is: ignore the shitty stuff (it's always been here and always will be) and support and appreciate the good stuff.
