Well since this is bumped i thought i would share some .MID files of a bunch of aphex songs.

These weren't made by me, they were made by reddit user "zoltanish". I just zipped them and uploaded so i can share here.

Here are the songs

 

I have to admit it's quite fun opening them up in a daw and messing with the instruments.

i have got midi-files for all my piano covers, i guess i could share them here as well :)

 

of course they don't contain any drum tracks and just the melodies, but still they might be cool for you guys to play around with. they sound pretty cool with a decent piano-vst, too.

ah neat, i thought about making a piano transcription for organ a couple of times already, i'd love to have your midi version of it.

 

in case anyone is interested: im currently working on a transcription for "call past rain" by world's end girlfriend, one of my favorite tracks ever... that's gonna take some time until i'm finished/be able to properly play it on piano tho :p

Just 2 of the main melodies that are pretty easy to distinguish, timing is off but it was a rushed job, it's nice how the second one leads off from the last key of the first one. In terms of MIDI, I'm gonna release a website at the end of the week that acts as a growing repository for all Aphex Twin and related IDM MIDI files that have been curated from good sources as well as some fresh ones that should be of interest, as I know tons of people, including myself, like to play around with them and even make them themselves. More details soon.. :)

this is a really great project. Are you doing it all by ear? any plans of providing downloads to all afx / autechre midi files in the future? These are a great resource to learn how to play the melodies and learn about the harmonic concepts behind the tracks.

Yes, all by ears, so there can be mistakes in some places. The old ones is already lost, but you can download original MIDI 'Ageispolis' and this one from sc. I think, I will selectively attach MIDI-files to the tracks
