Cheetah EP

Is everyone buying the cassette as preferred way to listen, or just because it's limited edition? I don't even own a cassette deck anymore.

I would've purchased it to play it on the deck, but after seeing the price (+ shipping), I'll just wait for the CD to appear at my local shop. Notice Recordings (label) sells tape recordings on chrome and cobalt tape stock for approx. $8 apiece.. same with Drag City, for more novelty items (DC uses normal tape stock)... paying upwards of $30 for a novelty just isn't realistic. Cheers to all y'all collectors

complaining about the price of a limited Aphex release kek

whatever it costs it's gonna sell for twice as much. There's no losing money. It's an investment

its not an investment if you don't plan to sell it, and maybe even intend to actually.. play it. then it just becomes a tape that's twice as expensive as any other

For the next couple days all other music is gonna sound like total shit. The Cheetah has ravaged my memory center of the brain

EDIT: this is coming from 30 second 60kbps previews as well. Christ.

Why cunts going mental over the tape, is it just cos it's 'limited'?

Samples sound lush btw. Drum pattern in cirklon 1 same as one of the analords?

I've always liked AFX on tape and got a small collection of them, and it's also not everyday you get to hear his tracks from cassette. Like I said earlier in the thread, different formats for different moods, purposes & locations. It's perfect for people who complain about his new tracks being too polished and clean too.

Also OMG LIMITED EDITION!1

P.S. Digging the samples, glad I pre-ordered :)

I don't get what's so awesome about this (from the amazon samples)? It's nice electronic music, but hardly anything mindblowingly excellent. Had the same feelings about Syro.

afx always needs time to grow a bit

Love the sound of the 1st track...

Great sound overall... can't wait to hear the full tracks.

Drum pattern in 2X202 sounds like the one at 2:39 in Windowlicker, hihat's and all. However listening back to Windowlicker does remind me that this stuff isn't on the same level as his late 90s stuff, sounds like some really nice bangers but I'm more excited for whats next. :music::aphexsign:

So awesome the Cheetah ep is happening.

The beautiful thing about Aphex is he never went away, longest breaks were between Druqks and Analord, then Tuss to Caustic Window, but he was also touring during those years.

Big respect and my favorite current musician by a mile.
