Aye, that's far too many Tops.

BTW did you know you can improve the perceived analogue warmth of a track by tossing your laptop into the fire (and yourself whilst you're at it you fucking worthless piece of shit), what's wrong with you, mary never liked you anyway, thomas pretended to like you but was just in it for the money, and your dog only bothers with you to get free food, you're useless, die, scum scum scum, dieeee. Or by tweaking the final mix with a tilt-eq.

100% serious tops.

And speaking of, did you know that the first ever musicians to use synthesizers in music ever, Devo, actually ran all of their synths from potato batteries to get the cleanest power possible by totally isolating themselves from the grid and also from the deleterious effects of trace magnetism built up in the dyes used for the labels on conventional batteries (which absolutely ruins your tone and means you will never be as successful as David Guetta, neither commercially nor artistically)?  They hid hints about it in a lot of their songs and album art, you can check if you don't believe me.

This is how they achieved their rich, earthy tone.

Been experimenting with this technique but with a twist: record the audio at 96k sample rate and then purposely degrade the sound with UAD emulations of classic outboard gear. Really makes those fire crackles pop so analogue!

Don't own a Blofeld? Pour a glass of ice water with ice over any synth to get those cold, icy tones.

A more permanent solution is to paint your synth white.

The more keyboard crumbs, beige discoloration and cigarette smell your laptop/computing unit/main frame has, the warmer it will sound. The true warmth and crunchiness of course comes with age, but you can get there faster by dumping a bag full of cheetos (more 90s warm sounds) or home baked edibles (closer to 70s warm sounds) on your keyboard and switching out your cooling fans with some smoked ham.

i've changed my laptop to run directly on mains power, but i've run out of outlets in my apartment so i've hijacked the one my neighbours were using for their cpap machine instead of buying a needless and wasteful power board.

why mains power? heh, fools. you think your laptop likes being restrained? when were you not supposed to push things to the fucking limit? and did you even think about opening up the limit? past the point of no return. you've reached the top but still gotta learn.

not satisfied with that answer? ok, kid. heh, i bet when you hear the real truth you're gonna be acting like you're the one that thought of it first.

so, i had a dream. to represent audio as a digital waveform at 1000000000000 frames per millisecond. i call this technology 'analogue fresh' and the waveform will be legally recognised as actual voltage except in the UK where rephlex bought the rights to the name 'analogue fresh' for a line of milkshakes they were planning on producing but never actually got around to making.

1. Make uninspired paint-by-numbers boc & afx clone tracks

2. give your tracks 'aphexian' syro-esque names with lots of gear names and brackets

3. give yourself an artist name like 'craniumtangoepoch'

4. ??????

5. profit!

Late night studio sesh hurting your eyes? Use a graphic equalizer to match the graphics coming from your monitor to match the frequency response of your eyeballs to reduce strain and get a wider and more natural stereo image.

This part only works if you have a dual monitor setup though.

Build all your studio furniture out of reclaimed palate wood. It makes the sound really warm and cold at the same time

Sit in front of your machines, sigh audibly, weep quietly. This worked for Vincent Gallo.

Not sure 'worked' is quite the term:
