Back to the Future Part II Thread

Bear with me here...we're 7 days away from the date that BTTF Part II took place, and what have we accomplished? Well, Zemeckis and Spielberg were right on a few things, and way off on some more.

Widescreen TVs: everyone has one now

Fax machines: gone the way of the dinosaur

Flying Cars: available to only the super rich, and still have not been licensed by the FAA

3D IMAX: alive and well, and The Walk by Robert Zemeckis only confirms his dedication to the format

Hydrator: a little off but I have an inverter microwave which cooks things excellently most of the time

Cosmetic Surgery: Alive and well as the Kardashians can attest to

Retro Gaming: Elijah Wood attested to: "it's like a babie's game". Also gave birth to the entire 8-bit chiptune scene.

The Internet: nowhere to be found in the movie. My TV production teacher told us in 1991 to be prepared for a sea change in computer technology, being a former VP at Radioshack. (He has since gone on to become a legislator in the Florida State Senate)

Christopher Lloyd will basically play Doc Brown for anyone willing to give him a paycheck, bless him.

*listening to Power Of Love on loop*

Yah, I've been waiting for October 21, 2015 for ~25 years. I got the Burger King solar shades when the film was in the cinema, and I was just dreeeaming of and so looking forward to the ridiculously far away future of 2015 where we'd have flying cars and hoverboards. It's really fucking incredible, this whole... passing of time phenomenon.

I'm looking for events in Tokyo to celebrate, but whatever the case, it's more of an existential acid trip spiritual day to contemplate passing of time. I VERY MUCH REMEMBER DREAMING OF THIS FUTURE TIME. I remember being in the Burger King parking lot with my future-so-cool solar shades, feeling as if I had an article from the future that was a reminder that 2015 would be badass and all my dreams would come true. I used to still draw back then, but I didn't think I'd end up an artist/designer. I thought I'd go to MIT and become an inventor (now my floor is full of random electronics components and failed flux capacitors, so I guess part of it did sort of come true).

If I dressed up for BTTF Day, I suppose I could be Jason Scott Lee in Griff's gang; all cyberpunk dudes who prolly listen to the 2015 version of Atari Teenage Riot. (...The only Asian person in Hill Valley is a fuckin' punk on future-crank, wtf.)

I'm still awaiting my ganj shipment, but hopefully it arrives in time to *time travel*. Or maybe I'll pickup and shove some e up my ass and roll hard in the Tokyo streets, stumbling around in an orange vest going... "No... No, this can't be right...! ...This must be a different time... a different place..... ...EVERYBODY'S JAPANESE!!!" Then Doc pops out of nowhere like, "...But I can't imagine Japan to be much more Japanese." Doc informs me that indeed we were in Hill Valley but in an alternate timeline: Due to the success of the Sony Walkman, Japan was allowed to freely take over the world with good food and used schoolgirl panties. Then Goldie Wilson Jr. pops out of nowhere talking about how times have changed, but it's really just a Japanese dude in blackface, cuz that shit is still acceptable in 2015 Japan.

PSN please feel free to start your own 9/11 conspiracies thread if you want to post those kind of links. thank you.

Wow, I think you're taking it too far when a humorous satire of a conspiracy theory, based on a comedy movie, is not welcome in a celebratory thread about said movie. I'm not a conspiracy freak, just thought it was good fun in the nature of the B2F movies.

No, both posts were deleted by Rubin Farr. I didn't get a warning for the first post, so I reposted thinking that I had fumbled the original post somehow.

Edit: And now it's back again. I'm confused.

Anyway. Back to the Future 2! Gonna watch it again today, haven't seen it since I saw it in the movies back in 1989. Fun!

I'm not tying to be the fun police here, but making light of 9/11 is offensive to me as an American, so please let's keep it light hearted, nostalgic and on topic. No one is stopping conspiracy theorists from starting their own thread.

psn: I'm gonna unhide your vids, and set them as spoilers. maybe that can be our compromise for people that find that kind of thing traumatic and/or offensive.

donald trump = biff tannon

both of them inherited a fortune they didn't deserve, owned a bunch of real estate and buildings (including casinos- although biff had his in vegas or hill valley while trump had his in atlantic city- both are billionaires and married to plastic wives and designs to rule america)

also they kinda look similar
