not sure if you ever read the interview with a guy who thought he remembered who did that. he ended up working with investigator of some sorts and talked to a bunch of people that worked in chicago broadcasting at the time and they basically narrowed it down to a few individuals that "could" have done it (had the equipment, knowhow etc) but it boiled down to investigating the incident after all that time wasn't in the DA's best interest
