My parents' cat also died this morning... in my arms of all places. So that's horrible, but it's also kind of cool that she shares an RIP day with Lemmy. I will temporarily put my atheism aside and imagine little Portia is being pet by Lemmy in some unfathomably awesome afterlife. And Killed by Death should definitely be the soundtrack. joshuatxuk Posted December 29, 2015 Share Posted December 29, 2015 One of the first songs my son liked before he was born was Motorhead: he kicked to furiously was "Ace of Spades." I didn't even play it on purpose (unlike all the ambient and classical I played through headphones when he was still in the womb), it came on the radio while my wife and I were in the car and he started kicking on the beat. Lemmy is one of those musical legends everyone loved for good reason. I can't think of someone who encapsulated "badass" any better as a guitarist and rock n' roller than him. Besides Motorhead he did awesome stuff with Hawkwind and influenced one of my favorite black metal bands, Darkthrone, when they returned to later stuff. Nobody really danced / moved about much because every song sounded the same and nobody could understand what he was singing about. Then they played "ace of spades" as the last track and a bunch of people threw beer (piss?) And started a mosh pit. So anyway I guess it was badass in the end. True rock and roll didn't give a shit legend and i respect his life choices.
