Bah looks like the CD version is delayed... Wouldn't mind so much but they announced this 3 months ago!

Oh well still looking forward to this very much after a bit of disappointment with the last couple of Ghost Box releases.

me too in regards to disappointment, but ghost box set such a high water mark with their previous releases.

this is not only a welcome return to classic ghost box, it's also a great improvement on the pca sound.

I was disappointed with this. There are perhaps three half decent tracks but the rest is just noodling - Carpenter demos that do nothing at all. The production is great and some of the textures are interesting but it's a very uneven piece of work, IMHO.

It doesn't seem so, I got the CD and vinyl last Wednesday, I think it was. Great album by the way, on first listen it feels like the perfect sequel to Sleep Games.

Oh cool, ordered mine from Norman this time as I had some points to use. Guess it was just delayed shipping to some stores. Hopefully be here soon. Glad to hear positive thoughts on it. Have yet to be disappointed in any of Martin Jenkins various releases.

Apparently Stasis has been a huge success for Ghostbox. They will be repressing the vinyl for release in November.

I still thought it was a very mixed bag.

i'm loving this album. it actually sounds like the head technician is building upon themes and ideas established on 'sleep games' especially on songs like 'vorsicht' and 'pulse threshold': but the whole album builds really well and steady like a slow awakening heartbeat.

"Lost Ways" really set the tone. I enjoyed the beatless interlude ones too "A Chance?" and "Ways Regained." "Verberation Lab" could of been on Tomorrow's Harvest easily.

I admit I with Fumi a bit on this one - a few great tracks but a lot of the album seemed a bit underwhelming, as they were soundtrack suites. Need to give this a few more listens before I settle on that as a final opinion though.

  • 2 months later...

Went back to this today after a few months without hearing it. My opinion hasn't changed much. Lots of generic John Carpenter chase sequence pieces and some other stuff that rattles by without making an impression. I still find that 'Ways Regained', 'Verberation Lab' and 'Mountain View' to be the best - basically the last fifteen minutes of the album.
