Now there's a 64bit of Synthmaker (now Flowstone) I hope some of these old-skool plugins get a 64bit lick of paint so I don't have to use jBridge to get the buggers to work ...

does freeware count because this is a cool nord modular type modular synth program

Interesting, I think the guy who made this also worked on that Java-based open-source Nord Modular editor ~10 years ago. It would make sense for this to reuse some of that code.

Got it to work as an AU unit and discovered it was just a demo... sound cuts out every 5 seconds or so.

You have to register it, there's a hard to see button in the upper right corner of the interface.  Click that, and there's an "offline registration" submenu that lets you export a request file.  There's an "offline activation" link on the Cakewalk site that takes you here, where you can upload the file and get another file that you can import into the plugin to register it.

They made that button kind of hard to see for some reason.

It's not exactly the kind o freebie this thread is for, but the Airwindows guy switched to Patreon funding and made all his plugins free a few weeks ago and has already ported a bunch of them to Windows.

His whole mix system is to cumbersome for me to really use much but it does sound good, whatever it's doing.  I'm really enjoying the lowpass and highpass filters and the "pressure" plugin (I assume it's a compressor of some kind but honestly I'm not sure).

Yeah they've been really good super minimal plugs - not even a GUI, just the native DAWs sliders ! Drive is bloody absurd at the wild levels you can get out of it ....

might be off topic..image-editing software

..just tested the trial: works rather well, pretty solid workflow and being only 12$= good value for money. win only though..

I just installed Drive yesterday and I'm really liking it.  Not usually a fan of software distortion but sometimes I use SDRR before an EQ to add some extra harmonic content and Drive works really well for that.  Not sure what's happening in the lowpass filer, but I had some tracks in a couple mixes that sounded too bright and harsh but ended up sounding flat and dead if I rolled the highs off with other EQs.  Just slapping the Airwindows lowpass on and leaving the cutoff all the way up has been pretty much taking care of that; if the tracks feel like they need more high end I turn the wet/dry mix down slightly.  It's also making me realize I haven't really done much parallel EQ in general.

I know, what an absolute cunt - spending all that time making all those free plugins and having the gall to ask people to voluntarily donate money to help further develop more ports...
