joshuatxuk Posted August 16, 2016 Share Posted August 16, 2016 I don't know how to deal with these things either. It makes me sad, feeling old. When we were kids, we used to have opinions. And we had conversations. With words, either spoken or written. IMHO I often daydream about experiences pre-internet or pre-smart phone, including mundane things like watching tv or a film with friends, driving around at night for fun, playing games and puzzles without outside help, lazily reading books and listening to music. Pondering answers to questions without quick answers. Conversations and musings confined with friends, family or chance strangers at an event. Memories of personal thoughts and imagined things out of nothing but boredom induced creativity. It's a strange feeling to re-visit. It's nostalgic but more in the sense of returning to a past state of mind versus the environment of a past place and time. The nice thing is one can return to it if they want. I've been personally avoiding social media feeds (twitter, facebook, even instagram which i kind of like) and it's made me feel less antsy.
