My dad seems pretty interested in this, he was a fan back in the day. I'll keep updates on this to see if anything happens.

This applies to so much on WATMM.

Lol I'll agree. Me and my dad's musical interests don't mesh together very well, but when he showed me his KLF cd he found in storage I was a bit shocked! I've only ever heard him listen to country and hair metal lol. So I'll keep tabs for him

Yeah, lol, I had that poster on my wall as a kid for a couple of years before I realized it was drawn by Cauty. I got it as a birthday gift from a school mate.

Reunion rumour activities have bought a few things to my attention recently, and I have been enjoying this album a lot over the last couple of days.  A 'mysterious duo' making electronic folk music with a selection of guest singers.  No proof of course, but they do have a particular Ford Thunderbird on their FB page and a perchant for dressing up in myterious cow head costumes.  And the fonts on their releases look very familiar... and they have performed at an exhibition Jimmy Cauty was involved in.

Anyway, decide for yourself.

Sounds like "middle of the road" post-pop/counter culture. Not bad, though. Might need to warm up to it. Second track is ok. The list of dead people was a corny attempt at making a statement, imo.

Gotta agree with this, it's hopelessly dated and a boring mega Pink Floyd cheese collage. I'm probably too young but I never got the KLF, although the money burning thing always fascinated me (especially how it seems completely forgotten about today).

I still listen to my bootleg copy of Chill Out every other weekend…tremendous album, love it a lot, doesn't sound dated at all to me but like a precursor of a future that will never be.

edit: kind of disappointed if it'll be just a book, don't think I'd dig the paranoid schizo babble even if it's just a piss-take.

A Polish friend of mine at work who's not on watmm because he refuses to sell his soul to this particular Devil, sometimes on Saturday evenings we swap tunes via text message. Anyway I sent him a youtube link to Chillout, thinking it was going to blow his mind (I think he likes a toke). Jesus the flak I received from him lol, he thought it was one of the worst things he's ever heard. In my defence I did ask him if he liked Pink Floyd, and he hates them. So yeah from the start it was a lost cause. I think it's a classic though.

Seriously? Epic classic album. Best of its genre imo

As someone who enjoyed their stuff in the late 80's / the early 90s, I was really hoping for some music.

I'm going to keep tooting this horn until they contradict me, but they've both stated in interviews multiple times that they're not doing new music (or in Drummond's case, recorded music). Another confirmation of that in the press release for this three day event that will accompany the book release:

The Justified Ancients of Mu Mu have confirmed further details for their plans in 2017, saying that on August 23 they will have completed their The Twenty Three Year Moratorium.

They say that they will be marking this moratorium firstly with the publication of their 2023 novel which will be issued by Faber & Faber on August 23.

Secondly, they will mark the milestone with an event across three days in Liverpool called 'Liverpool: Welcome To The Dark Ages'. It will take place from August 23-25, and each day has a different title. On August 23, they will explore the question "Why Did The K Foundation Burn A Million Quid?" The second day is themed around the question "2023: What The Fuuk Is Going On?" Finally, the third day explores The Rites of MuMufication.

They say that there will be only 400 tickets available for the event and there will be no guest lists or press passes. "Every one of the 400 ticket holders will be expected to be Volunteers," a statement adds, finishing with a warning that "The Justified Ancients of Mu Mu in any of their various past, present or future guises will not be performing music".
