That kettle track and

? - Ambulamp

are A+

also, Jodey's stuff is always quality. Missed out on that Clark track (good shit) and goddamn are we ever gonna hear who's behind the Covert compilation or was norbit (forget his name) just fucking with us? I would really like to know who's behind that borg acid track as well. EOD had some good tracks too. Frogs was my favorite of the bunch.

non-electronicy jams

Oddly, almost all of the songs are lead singles. Usually the contrarian in me prefers the "deep cuts", but single selection was good this year imo.

1. Vektor - Charging The Void

This band took me a few years to warm up too due to those baby metal vocals. But once I did it was a rewarding experience. And then everybody left the band like a week ago. Fuck.

2. Devin Townsend Project - Stormbending

This and Failure were my favorites off of Transcendence. Terria is my favorite Devy album ever and I completely got that vibe from this song. And yeah, I'm aware that the video and some of the lyrics may be a little cringe. I love it.

3. Danny Brown - Pneumonia

I'm not seeing the prog-hop that certain people are claiming is here. It's another Danny Brown album, which is always good in it's own right. The production, however, is some of the best I've heard in a while. It appears in addition to bring energy, personality, changing his voice, and bringing humor and self-deprecation to the table Danny is also a hell of a curator for unique beats. And he didn't overload the album with guest spots. I just wish he would tackle some different themes, do better story telling, etc.

4. Frank Ocean - Pink And White

copyright protected bullshit. This was kinda my surprise jam of the year, never been a huge R&B fan but the melody and the chorus gets stuck in my head every time I hear it and it's always welcome. Just a legitimately beautiful track.

5. Okkultokrati - Hard To Please, Easy To Kill

last minute discovery courtesy of someone in the metal thread. Awesome blend of styles on this song.

G'day. Getting in to the hardware game myself. Recently got a MPC 1000 for sequencing duties and been looking at synths and a mixer to get to pump the jams
Got inspirired by watching youtube videos of people jamming with gear. Rly cool to c how a track can be constructed live. Tons of boring techno videos out there but there's also many gems. Keen to watch more i haven't found so post 'em here! Here's a few favs of mine

Greetings watmm. This is Peter the ASCDI communicating to you via the Internet. Perhaps you know me. I am famous on the world wide web for music. Wow, that was fun. That one time.
Listen up: those of us in the shadowy, mysterious, and exclusive collective known as TEFOSAV are putting together a new compilation for which we are soliciting contributions from the community.
Yes, you are part of a community. No, it is too late to back out now.
Guys, I gotta be honest. I am the one is charge of this compilation on behalf of the group. If this doesn’t go well I… I just dunno what I’m gonna do. I mean does life have any meaning? When even field recordings can’t make a man smile? Sweet, pure field recordings of babies riding go-karts or horse karaoke by the light of a setting sun, etc? I dunno, watmm. I just… don’t… know.
      2. I am in charge of picking the tracks. I will probably pick all of them, because I am not good at confrontation, so make sure they are good.
      3. TEFOSAV is pretty prestigious, so you will get a TON of exposure with this release. Seriously. I heard Nick even posted on Ribbit once. That’s that site where there are discussions, right? Ribbit? I heard they jocked us pretty hard. That’s when someone really likes your stuff, right? Jocking hard?
      4. Seriously, one time we did a compilation about pumpkins which was named The Best Holiday Pumpkin Techno Album of 2013 by Oprah’s “O” Magazine. Oprah herself called me up and was like, yo Peter that song where you sang in the middle of the spooky woods is HOT SHIT and I was like oh shit Oprah you’re so sweet and etc.
      1. If you are NOT AN INCONSIDERATE ASSHOLE you can join the tefosav.com fora (that’s right, fora) and post a statement notifying us of your interest. We’ll also need to see a little identification, please.
      Just kidding! EVERYONE IS WELCOME!!
      2. If you are SLIGHTLY MORE INCONSIDERATE you may PM me here on this forum, at which point I will add you to the list, and then berate you very slightly for not following item #1 above.
      3. If you are SIGNIFICANTLY YET MORE INCONSIDERATE you may email me at pete DOT ascdi AT SYMBOL google mail DOT company which is my email address set aside specifically for assholes
Anyway, field recordings! LQQK WQW what fun! Get off your asses and do this! YEAH! DO SOME SHIT!! RECORD A GOAT!!!
