Then they die. No one younger and more charismatic available ? short answer: marketability. vanilla candidate has broad appeal. safe. experienced. tracks well in various voting groups. hard to sell someone new to the public and get them to oust trump.. or at least that was one line of thinking. but biden won everywhere in the primaries. the south cemented his road to victory in the primaries.
