Now put Rupert Murdoch and Sheldon Adelson there, too

i guess i need to look into adelson. feel free to post links or search terms.

i can say that, taking the wide view, the political deception profiteering racket that murdoch grew into a blind armaggeddon collossus is the origin of much of the hindrance and destruction to modern western civilization.

when i think of how different governments in europe are, i wonder what remedies to the problem of pretend journalism, while outside the imagination of typical americans, may actually be appropriate. i don't know if murdoch will ever be playing tennis with donnie in minimum security, but maybe a sane congress could put some guard rails where cars are careening to oblivion in a steady flow.

but never say never. sometimes i think i catch a whiff of something that stinks coming from the fox leadership. would not be at all surprised if a major criminal conspiracy emerged.

Can't wait to see how far right Trump TV will be than fox. He jumped on the FOX NEWS SUCKS SO COME WATCH MY BS train pretty quick after he realized he will be unemployed in jan.

His gullible supporters can't see it's just theater to get them to watch his shit. I often wonder how I am even distant relatives of these people.

at the cost of every citizen in the USA and 300,000 dead. Wouldn't that be something?

my prediction is he'll start Trump TV with programming that will include long winded rambling incoherent speeches, and after a week of that, will switch to tractor pulls and wrestling events. hell, I'd pay $5.99 to watch donnie vs. Giuliani in the ring.

I do hope it becomes more entertainment for dumb people, than a strong media force like Fox is. I don't know how much more the country can take being stretched to the right.

howard stern let his thoughts fly about trump in recent interview saying trumpTV would have the same fate as his other failed businesses. "if he thinks working in the white house is hard wait until he tries to run a network" and he said it'd fail within a year.

lolol how the fuck are you gonna fire Chris Krebs? This fucking guy.

Trump said Krebs’ firing is a direct result of CISA issuing a statement that it had found no evidence of votes being deleted, lost, changed or compromised at all in the 2020 election, which Trump lost to Democratic challenger Joe Biden.

My god, get your bitch ass fragile little ego the fuck out the White House.

Don't really have any particular links in English, but this guy is a huge donor of Trump. Gave him millions (if not hundreds of millions) for his campaign. He owns more than half of the casino market of the entire world getting rich off gambling addiction and is a friend of Netanyahu. Hates arabs. Very disposable person

ah, ok. mercer is another one of these mischievous funders who propelled donnie darko to the nuclear football seat. mercer also was one of the key forces behind cambridge analytica, loved the idea of cutting edge data technology used to manipulate, fracture, and attempt to refashion society according to his personal conceptions. the mercers are now funding the social media platform parler. if anyone has familiarity with this new platform, know that the motives behind it should not be trusted.

The balls that the right has now to complain about “corporate America” in some kind of “socialist takeover” after being the shills of big corporations for over a century, is just as stupid as them saying “we defeated communism in WWII”. Their party is imploding before our eyes.

These people aren't Americans. They are part of a global finance elite and labour in their service, not in favour of the US or its citizens (or any other normal humans who don't belong to the richest 0.01%). They hate functioning non-corrupted nation states because it's a business hindrance. They dream of nations that only provide military and police force to control people but let oligarchs do whatever they want. Russia is a little ahead of the US in that regard, but not much.

I saw that and not sure I agree. His loyal servants have flocked from fox to oan and newsmax. They only want to hear their own echo chamber. While it is funny on one hand - I feel like this is exactly how "terrorists" get radicalized. These people are just getting more and more riled up and are actively seeking anyone to tell them what they want to hear. They only want "fake news". At this point, it seems like anything the radical republicans point their finger at is exactly what they are doing themselves. It's scary, IMO.

If Trump on Twitter is scary - imagine that 24-hour news cycle...

i think stern is saying that it'll be a mess and fall apart regardless of how many subscribers etc because trump and his people are fundamentally incompetent and will break any new thing they try to make. the audience is certainly there but can they make use of it in a long term way?  perhaps alex jones will straighten everyone out and show them how it's done or something ?

Yeah, but similar arguments were advanced in 2015 for the claim that he couldn't get elected. "They're incompetent, therefore they'll fail." It's not that I think we're overlooking any great genius here--there isn't any--but those commentators who dismissed his candidacy as a joke weren't counting on how effective it is to tap into provincialism, scapegoating, and good ol' fashioned racism in America. And his popular vote actually increased this time around, right? He knows how to milk those die-hard followers, we have to give him at least that much. I'm with Jules on this: it's pretty scary shit.

i think to some degree it's apples and oranges. trumps administration has been effective at wrecking shit. hollowing out the state department and EPA.. shit like that. but in other ways they've been terribly incompetent and ineffective. his campaign had a few key things. his appeal as the loud mouth getting lot's of wall to wall news coverage because "OMG what's he gonna say next" and people watching a car crash/freakshow and laughing... then he had brad parscale who dialed in the on line stuff w/facebook and took advantage of all that had to offer. all the super targeting of people to turn them on or turn them off. get them to vote or get them to stay home.

that translating to a network is a different thing. the minute someone stands up to trump about anything.. he'll fire the person. he'll have yes men all around him and his bad decisions will tank the network because he's fucking stupid.

if he makes some kind of deal to license his name to an existing network that gives him a show on a channel that has his name on it.. then that's another story completely... but if he wants to run the show.. i don't know.. it might be a big splash then 6 or 12 months of chaos and implosion.

A woman who claims to be Ivanka Trump's former 'best friend' says one of her earliest memories of her is her blaming a fart on someone else.

On Tuesday, she wrote: 'One of the earliest memories I have of Ivanka from before we were friends is when she blamed a fart on a classmate.'
