Desperate for that stock market rebound - it was his only thing going.

And the fat shit blob keeps insisting on calling it "Chinese" virus. Wouldn't be surprised if he tests positive soon.

That would be a silver lining!

it really sucks knowing that despite him ignoring advice, not caring, doing nothing, providing the public with wrong information, shouting at reporters, etc. - he still will claim he defeated corona virus in the US single-handedly and half the country will believe it...AND he will probably get re-elected.

I heard that he was likely exposed a week or so ago. I also heard that the other silver lining is a reduction in global carbon emissions, at least temporarily.

the red hat collective aren't budging, donnie is doing a good job at managing the outbreak. like I said, he will get away with everything he's doing (or not doing) right now, and will no doubt survive to win 2020.

Half of Americans give President Donald Trump positive marks for his management of the coronavirus outbreak, according to a new survey, and his approval rating has seen a marginal improvement over the past month as the pandemic has worsened.

A Monmouth University poll released Monday reports that 50 percent of respondents believe Trump has done a “good job” dealing with the outbreak, while 45 percent say he has done a “bad job.” Three percent of those surveyed said they had a mixed review of Trump’s performance, and 1 percent did not have an opinion.

Was Florida man dying or a mild case that would've recovered anyway?

Nevermind, I read the anectodal evidence.

Haven't read the article, but I'm fairly sure the typical Trump voters haven't really felt the impact yet and consider this a hoax and a load of fake news. This might still be the case in a couple of weeks time. But if US goes the same route Italy has already taken (which it does look like, imo), I expect those ratings to drop. And pretty hard. Might be a month until you see that in the actual polls. Since there's also a delay in those outcomes.

Exactly.  The places where the virus has hit hard so far (Northeast, west coast) are generally pretty blue.  We'l see what happens once the traditionally red states become severely affected.

It's ironic that in the unlikely scenario that the measures being taken in the worst affected areas have an effect in slowing the spread, the effect will have been very disproportionate across blue / red states, with red states being much less affected and thinking that Trump's strategy was the reason they got off lightly.

Yeah a lot of people blaming Trump for this but seriously that guy was such a grade-A ding-dong it's hard to get your head round - drinking aquarium cleaner to beat a disease you don't have? If it wasn't this he'd have gone out soon enough trying to clean his power sockets with a fork or something.
