Still very fond of his albums with the now long gone Benbecula.

Previews sound okay.

This is a beautiful album.  He has really expanded his horizons - some of the beatless ambient pieces were a little unexpected, but they are uniformly excellent

Yeah really enjoying this. Ochre does that gorgeous melodic idm thing so well

Also agree on the comment about some of the more ambient bits being a real nice addition to his sound

Yeah, he definitely treaded new ground with this album and it worked out well for him. His newly discovered ambient side is beautiful sounding, Out of Gyre was unexpected. Weak Transponder is beautiful as well. Then you have Adaptation which puts the 'chre in Ochre for once ( I know he's a big Autechre fan but I never heard any of there influence in his music up until this point) and also Fenwick Colliery which is by far the most, and only, evil sounding music he's ever made unless there are other aliases I'm unaware of. The rest of it is still very much the Ochre I know and love to listen to but the fact that he decided to venture off into new territories is great. It's still early but I can see this becoming my favorite release from him so far.

And btw, Lights in the Fog didn't deserve to be relegated as a bonus track. It's too good for that imo.

Great album!! Ochre is always solid, I've always found his tunes to fall somewhere between Plaid and Kettel. I love the ambient tracks, they make the album a more cohesive listen than his past couple works.

Lemodie is still his masterwork imo. Incredible. This is a nice compliment to his collection though.

Very nice album indeed. I like this more than Like Dust and National Ignition I think. That would make it his strongest release since Lemodie :)

For me this beats Lemodie.  It's rare these days that I listen to an album from beginning to end repeatedly.  But this I am.  The only track I'm not really a fan of is the third one.  The fourth more than makes up with it.  I agree that he sits somewhere between Kettel & Plaid but with his own slant.  He hasn't released a bad album yet and i doubt he ever will.

Just about finished streaming this, pretty pleasant, a lot more relaxed than his previous albums. Still has that unique melodic style that elevates it above many of the clones creating this kind of stuff (in fact, I probably have more time for this than most of Plaid's recent output tbh), will buy this and listen more I think.

Just found out about this. So far I really like the album. I like when an artists sound matures into something like this. Stay true to the original sounds they developed in earlier albums, still sounding unique.
