yeah shish kebab. like, proper bits of meat on a skewer cooked over charcoal...good eatin'!

The charcoal is the key IMO, the meat is just so much tastier that way. 2nded on the shish though, goes stellar with some nice beer.

just looked that up - looks delicious

have to try it some time thanks for the recommendation

pork scratchings (or rinds here in canadia-land) are wicked. Not bad for you like people think either, depending on the brand you buy. Haven't had any with beer though, going to give that a shot.

But what's a pancake lizard? other than aphix twine track.

find yourself a lizard (anyone will do) bash the fuck out of it with a rolling pin (if you live on the Island of Komodo then roll backwards and forward over the beast with a juggernaut) make sure the scaly motherfucker is flat. Put the flattened beast into a plastic bag with pancake batter, give it a good shake. Chuck lizard in a huge frying pan (or dig a hole in the ground like an Earth Oven if living on Komodo) and cook until crisp.

literally anything

I wholeheartedly agree with this statement. It'll even make food you don't like better! Beer, ladies and gentlemen!

An easier question to answer is foods that aren't good with beer.

Answer: none.

mayonnaise

We may have reached a verdict. Put mayonez on anything and it's beer-ready.

A few minutes ago I just found out about these tortilla-like chips made from cricket flour. Ground up crickets. Imagine turning yourself into a lizard man, with tattoos, a split tongue, and implants under your skin for an enhanced lizard appearance. You surround yourself with live crickets you bought from a pet store and patiently wait for them to land in your guacamole so you can dip these chips in. Paired with a witbier.

fried crickets are surprisingly good with beer.

Actually in Japan many of the izakaya would serve grilled salted chicken in skewers, which was an excellent compliment. The karaoke bars I went to had fried chicken cartilage (nankotsu) on their menu as well.

Anything grilled or fried and salted basically. Mayonez is optional. And I wouldn't mind trying fried crickets as well.
