Ametsub - Mbira Lights 1 EP (incl remixes by Seefeel, Austin Cesear)

Recommended Posts

This new EP (more of a mini LP at 43 minutes) by Japan's Ametsub is just beautiful! He makes heavy use of the Mbira instrument as the title would suggest. Out now on Nothings66 Records. There's also a brilliant remix by Seefeel on here.

Yeah this album is great, I love it. Cool to hear a project from him that's so focused on one particular sound source, sort of like a Matmos album. Great balance of soundscape and grooves. Ajisai is killer.

Holy shit this is amazing, been listening to his stuff non-stop. The song 'Precipice Drive' on one of his LPs is really cool, and there's an extended edit of it on one of his EPs. Bassline is heavenly.
