Siriusmo - Comic

Recommended Posts

New album from Siriusmo on September 14th.

He has released some great stuff over the years.  His last album, Enthusiast, was a bit too cartoonish at times for me.  The new one is called “Comic” so I fear that it might continue the trend but I am sure it will be interesting nonetheless.

He loves Korg synthesizers so may listen out for some monologue action on this one.

If you do not know this guy here are a couple of my favourites by him.  He has such a unique fun sound:

Yeah, he could have curated material from Pearls & Embarrassments into a new album instead of the lackluster Enthusiast and i would have been very happy. It wouldn't have been as much of a letdown if he didn't release such sonic perfection as The Uninvited Guest years previous. I'm hopeful for this one though! And a Oizo collab to boot

I really didn't enjoy Enthusiast for about the first year I had the album. It has really grown on me since though. I can't say I enjoy it nearly as much as Mosaik, but it's got some incredibly solid material on it.

Really looking forward to this release.

I actually really loved Enthusiast. There's a continuity on it that Mosaik didn't have, plus better production skills. Can't wait for this new one. Pretty much any release of his is a purchase waiting to happen.

Other Siriusmo news:

Justin Bieber sampled Siriusmo!  Hopefully a bit of cash for the big man:

Also just found out that Siriusmo produced Romano's last album, perhaps providing the beats?

Well i'll be damned if this isnt loads better than i ever expected. Very much his sound and a little less abstract than past stuff. Every track is so beefy and detailed. I think it's a masterclass in the synthesizer itself. That Oizo collab is such lushness, expectedly.. Bleat and Patina as well. I expected overwhelming corniness and like dumb cartoon type stuff cause of the whole Comic thing, but was pleasantly surprised, even though the title track makes me think of this vid obviously lol

Yeah I was really impressed, I think this is his best "album" to date. I felt like Mosaic and Enthusiast were more like a compilation of tracks, Comic flows really nicely. Great production, I've listened through it a few times now.

So after a few months, I've started putting this on rotation regularly. The synths and sound design on this one are really good. I don't care for the second track since it's pretty repetitive (and a bit derivative), but the rest of the album is solid. Really quirky with great production.

I wonder what vocoder he's using on "La Bouche."

Yeah the second track really kills the flow for me, but after that its all smooth groovin'.  Amazing album other than that one

I wouldn't have minded it if that track was later on, maybe next to wixn? But yeah as the second track it doesn't work.

We're a picky bunch huh? =p

naw Comic is one of the best on here!  It is 2, Wrong Password that we were suggesting messes with the flow.
