John Carpenter - Anthology (1974-1998)

Rubin Farr

Saw this a few hours ago. I don't think many of his fans will buy this. They most likely have everything he's done already. I know I have all his soundtracks stretching back to Dark Star and I bet I'm not the only one.

This album is squarely aimed at those new to his work and those just curious. Also, while the reinterpretations are sort of interesting, I don't believe for one second that they will better the originals.

As the composer, it's probly easier for him to just rerecord the material, than have to try to get the rights to numerous soundtrack recordings from various film studios, give them a cut, and surely some distribution rights have changed hands since the 80s, maybe several times.
