thanks guys, glad you like them  :music:

I dig 'bang'... the beats have a nice colouring to it. Sounds like the whole mix has been mixed to tape?

no tapes here, just renoise. I lowered the bitrate of the samples to 8bit 11-22hz and turned interpolation off to get the vintage tracker vibe.

another slew of breakbeats:

I dont feel like I got much cohesion out of this one, but I still like the way it feels. any feedback is very welcome

I don't listen to that much jungle/breakcore anymore, but after having listened to this I kinda feel like I should. The only thing missing is a proper peak where the whole thing goes fucking nuts ;D

this is my 5th track for weeklybeats and I'm very happy with how it turned out. been listening and writing loads of jungle lately, hugely inspired by green bay wax & lucky muffin releases.

thanks to anyone who takes time to listen & feedback is always appreciated

^It's cool, beat programming-wise and jungle'y for sure, but I miss tension, something that would make me come back to this more often. The floaty delayed synthbits are reminiscent of old, but not much of a catchy hook imo, or unique. Perhaps some vocals, bassline / melodies, pads could spice things up, but then it be something else :) ...it's nice to see people still rinsing the amens, you have the skills to be on Green bay I think  , ever sent out a demo?

thanks guys, really appreciate feedback   agreed, I need to work on atmospheres & melody, they're not my strong suit. it's much more fun to me to mash amens than write melodies, lol

yeah in my dreams lol, I need to buy an amiga before I'm worthy of a release on gbw  phineus & kid lib are top notch, every track from them is pure quality. they're huge inspirations. I've never sent a demo anywhere. I love my tracks, but I don't think they're as good as they could be yet. maybe in the future i'll toss a few out there

my 7th track for weekly beats - a bouncy lil chiptune. i was writing more jungle, but i wasn't really feeling it once sunday hit. took an old melody that i did by the shore and made a full track out of it. pretty glad i did cause this tune's a bunch better that what i made all week imo

thanks to all listeners & feedback is very welcome  :music:

cool melodies, honestly for me the beats don't do it justice, mix these melodies with your jungle breaks. ;)

thanks for the feedback guys

that track was originally a chipbreak/jungle loop, but i took out the breaks cause i wanted to try something different. could be fun to do another jungle mix of it later on. i deleted off soundcloud by accident the other day, but it's still on weeklybeats just for future reference: https://weeklybeats.com/8-bit+attack+force/music/seagull-bay

and here's a track i've done over the last week:

https://soundcloud.com/maelstrom2000/arrow-of-time

had the week off for spring break, so i spent a load of time with this one. any & all feedback is greatly appreciated

another new jungle track:

just a chill tune, nothin too crazy. any feedback is appreciated :music:

Musically not bad just could do with a bit more omph. Beats are cool again. Will keep an eye on your stuff. Do you use Ableton for cutting up breaks?

thanks, i tried to focus more on the overall song structure/progression with that one rather than doing more amen slicing. everything's done in renoise, it's sample editor is top notch. thanks for listening

awesome beat work, but i'd like to hear more going on outside of breaks, such as some melodies, sound fx, or vocal work.  that said, i really enjoyed listening.

edit:  the attention to detail in "arrow of time" is really nice.

thanks for the comments snack master, much appreciated.  agreed about the melodies, i tunnel vision myself into the breaks too hard sometimes and the surrounding atmosphere becomes an afterthought.

a new track:

a very aggressive remix of "Bizzy B - This One Is Computerised" for the brain remix comp. haven't done anything new for the last 2-3 months so i thought entering this could get the blood flowing again.

any feedback is appreciated  :music:

these rule! life jungle's my fave.. reminds me of the music from that show Monkey!..

i had hardly listened to any oldschool jungle outside of old squarepusher, if he counts, til a couple weeks ago. figured it was time to get into it.. and the last few days i've been getting back into trackers after being ableton'd up for years now.. drum loop+offsets are so fun, tho i'm not good at it yet.. there are obvs many tricks i must learn..

your beats are amazing! really inspiring stuff :)

thanks! definitely try out renoise if you have interest in trackers. once you get a sense of the general layout and workflow, you can lay down really complex stuff in a matter of minutes. the sample editor is wildly powerful as well, you can tear sounds apart doing sample commands -> render to sample -> repeat. i barely use any vst/plugin for effects because it's just so versatile.

if you're interested in any newer jungle releases with the oldschool flare, check out the greenbay wax label. they're a huge influence to me and every release from them is 100% quality
