I bought the vinyl. I don't know why I bought the vinyl, but I bought the vinyl.

I still don't own a turntable.

I'm having a hard time believing he made Revsic without a computer.

a lot of his instagram stuff w/eurorack is very similar to that. if you pick through over the last year or so there's a ton of examples like that kind of thing.

i'm guessing he multitracked some of it and mixed w/his yamaha mixer or something. his studio seems pretty well integrated so anything can go into anything else. his modular is massive and sprawling so he could have multiple compressors and filters and everything else to process each voice.

I do like what I'm hearing in that Revsic excerpt though. Sound design is right up my alley.

Not exactly sure how to put this into words, but the percussion/rhythm is a bit frenetic for a while... needs more spacing in places. I do like when it starts to unravel.

 Good call.

I'm a bit floored by the detail of some of the effects in the track... especially some of the vocodery stuff and the send type effect work done. Scratching my head how I'd do that with modular, but its obvious he has at least a few more modules than I

Sounds pretty cool.

I feel like a lot of sound-design centric 'IDM' stuff I hear lately just kinda meanders on and lacks any emotion... this is straddling the line from what I've heard so far. Like it's all just run through a randomizer as to what effect to apply and left to run. Throw main synth through reverb, twiddle the LFO rate on a patch in the back, stutter a drum hit here or there and give it some bloopy repeating motif and call it a song. It's cool from a sound-design perspective, but does absolutely nothing for me on an emotional level and therefore doesn't get many repeat listens

My thoughts exactly. I'm hoping it's just that a more Devine-esque is being put out early doors and the album is more interesting, because it frustrates me when I listen to some of his instagram stuff posted previously but it doesn't end up on the album.
