Here are some recordings Ive made of two of the banks in a larger project I'm working on. All sounds are recorded live with a little bit of post editing done in the DAW.

track 1 reminds me of y7 from move of ten but combined with exai beats somehow with a little bit of last step sinistererstness... sorry I suck at referencing/knowing lesser known idm guys to compare to. then it does stuff at the end, i don't even know, it's its own thing

i admire everything soundwise, sounds like there's a lot of work involved in producing such sounds, crazy glitches, reverbs and delays, snappy kicks and snares, etc, but the melodies didn't really grab me, except for the exceptional ones in the 1st track at 5:00, but then in the end enters another melodie that to me sounds completely out of tune with the 1st one... i know it's intentional, it's me who's too much of a square...

Hey thanks for taking the time to review all this music in this forum... its appreciated.

Interesting comments and it actually reflects the way the tracks are put together at the moment.

There isn't actually that much work involved in all of the flourishes on those tracks as the way my setup is geared is that all of the audio is being fed into an Octatrack which i can use to mangle in real time. I have a bunch of scenes set up with various degrees of retriggers, reverbs, delays, pitch shifting etc ... so i can just play on the fader to create that output....

Interesting comment about the melodies and i actually agree. This stuff is being put together based around a drum machine / sampler that i filled up with beats which i'm now writing accompanying melodies so that component of the music is really an afterthought. All of these tracks are part of a single file so the aim is to be able to create a few livesets that combine elements of each of the tracks into new creations... maybe the melodies will sync better then lol

a thing i was going to say but couldn't get the words together before was, they all have a very unified, live recording type sound to em, as opposed to a more uh.. studio album type sound - like most everything is the same distance in the mix, or under the same reverb or something.. i reckon it could sound cool if some elements sounded like a different layer, so the different layers sit inside or outside each other in the mix. if that makes any sense... (ok maybe i still can't get the words together..). basic example: weird reverby messed up beats, with clean/dry synth lines surrounding them. or vice versa. sorryt if this makes no sense.

anyway, not a bad thing at all, just what i was thinking when listening. and now i've read how you're making these and what they're for it totally makes sense how they sound.

Yep totally get that ... in the short term I can route more outs from the octatrack but I'm thinking I can actually route the dry pre octa signals into their own tracks in the Daw and use the OT as a send so hopefully should get the best of both worlds

12.2.b has some great components. The melodies and sounds of the first section are lovely, but that part is a touch disjointed for my ears...the last third or so had a good feel to it but was maybe lacking some direction. Overall the track felt like just sort of spliced together and not in an interesting or dynamic way...that said, I did like a lot of it, and I really do think that direction and those sorts of sounds are working very well for you. Love the growls and off kilter grooves there, and the mixing/tones are all done well.

11.1.b felt uninspired, but I could see it going somewhere if you can add in some magic or tighten it up perhaps? Hard to say.

I do like the sounds and feel of what you're doing overall though, for real. Keep it up.

Thanks Auxien for taking the time to listen and provide meaningful feedback . I'm a fan of your stuff so it's appreciated.

I've just started making music again after about 10 years and I'm using hardware so there is a bit of a learning curve compositionally . All these pieces are part of a larger project and I'm just recording little jams out of the elements .. hopefully in the context of a larger mix they gel a bit more or alternatively maybe it'll be a complete mess - time will tell .

Interesting the sentiments about 11 on here - it's my wife's preference - I will discount her opinion from now on lol

really digging the harmony melodie vibes but those drilling hi hats are not doing it for me... nice glitchy clicks and pops once in a while
feels a bit disjointed overall, i dunno, is it a live jam recording? maybe you want it that way... i could see it working, at least for me, with some edited and repeated loops from the entire take... there's really interesting stuff going on...
oh, now the big beat came in, pretty cool, but there's too much happening in the background, specially, and i'm repeating myself, those drilling hi hats are annoying for me lol... i like the reversed bit and most of the glitchy stuff though, i'm only nitpicking on the hi hats... definetly a nice work on the beats! i'm having a hard time knowing where i am, that disjointed feeling i mentioned earlier, mixed feelings all over the song hehe ;^)

only the drilling ones... and that disjointed feel overall, can't really find something to grab, a hook or something, i feel lost... one part that grabbed me was when the big beat came in, but after a while i lost track again... anyway i guess it's just a question of personal taste don't get it the wrong way, keep it up man!

First minute of 12.1b is very good, its complex and polite, then start becoming complex and rough and this is a tough terrain which is can be pounded only by ae for me. In general I like what you do.

You should ask Björk to feature on some of your tracks.

Listened to 12.3 b and love it, it's a beautiful mess of ever evolving sounds, would love to hear that live on a big system.

Right now I'm 3 mins into DTO3 and like it too. These non-repetitive patterns appeal to me

Would be cool if you put together something like an album, I would actually listen to this

I'm currently tidying up some of those FM recordings and making a bandcamp for collections of songs like that.

Cheers again,
