Took this a few days ago, while pike fishing. A robin isn’t a particular difficult bird to photograph as they almost pounce on you when you settle down. This one got Xmas fruit cake. A few lumps of that and I never saw it for the rest of the day. It was probably drunk from the brandy ☺️

Pretty poor picture from an iPhone on full zoom and me stretching across the passenger seat and hand waving out of the passenger window (I was on a road where I couldn’t really stop and get out the van) But it was cool to watch this heron walking over the ice of a totally frozen lake. A rare sight in the south of England. Mr Heron must of been tripping out.

Tewkesbury starling murmuration captured on camera

Tewkesbury starling murmuration captured on camera Close People have been gathering in a rural town to watch thousands of starlings take flight.

The starlings, taking part in what is known as a murmuration, were filmed on the edge of Tewkesbury above a garden centre close to the M5 motorway.

The Gloucestershire town has become a hotspot for murmurations in January, with people flocking for miles to see them. Wendy Turbull travelled down from Birmingham to capture the footage and said it was "wonderful to watch".

I've been spotting some birds that sound quite similar to that one but they're yellow, black and white if I recall correctly... I need to record it and ask @iococoiwhat it is...
