To be fair to him this was quite a few years back and the guy did identify it being rubbish when he later did the Oversteps review.

After the wtf of Dirty Computer getting a 7.7 and scarcely any music content discussion, I wonder if they'll even bother to acknowledge NTS1-4 exists.

great review for german-speaking AE heads:

https://skug.at/entromantisierung-im-sinne-der-sinnlichkeit/

I find this review a bit funny because it's so overly (pseudo-)academic. 30% is a historical outline of romanticism of questionable accuracy. The author obviously tries to sound smart and educated by using unusual words but doesn't really get to the point, e.g. piloerection instead of boner

track by track revs are decent, the rest regularly drifts into a rather cringey namedropping fest imo. also the pointless and inconclusive reflections on the term(s) of romanticism in the first paragraphs come off as terribly forced.

Sorry, I'm new here. Are you the sarcastic guy?

Or do you really need a definition of piloerektion?

Alright, piloerection is skin tingling. But there are many other examples in this review that make it sound like a seminar paper from a college freshman

I love that sentence:

was beim Hören durchaus zu einer stattlichen Piloerektion führen kann.

kek i thought so too

yeah some parts are rather cringey, but not as cringey as the good old 5.5 exai review from p4k

Yeah, that's the funny part. The lengthy descibing of l3 ctrl as a space map is even more "forced" - but funny. And he does that with respect to the music, so it's cool for me.
