WATMM ain’t in Europe.

A quick glance at article 13 and research on it indicates that it’s a clusterfuck of a regulation and will be highly unenforceable. This is not to say that it shouldn’t be removed, cause it’s really silly, but it shouldn’t cause an individual much concern.

I mean watmm isn't in Europe but there are quite a few Europeans here and since the EU is becoming a thing of debate I thought a thread would b ok, but iunno

maybe we should get a politics subforum or something? I'm sure this has been discussed before

The thing is how would that be enforced? That could only go along with extensive surveillance of the whole internet by law enforcement agencies and automated processing of the data which is not only juridically very difficult but also technologically

these things crop up in the EU from time to time, everyone gets worried about them, and then they don't pass.

Yeah that's the Legal Committee - and even if the EU parliament passes it (which I don't think likely), it's still a clusterfuck of unenforceable regulations.

I forsee a spike in VPN pro subscriptions though...
