It's a bit old, but this guy impressed me a lot: http://ouryoungwarriorevan.blogspot.com/2012/07/rockhills-triathlon-inspiration.html

Tom Rockhill was diagnosed with having harlequin ichthyosis upon being born, which is a fatal skin disorder and infants with it don't normally survive after a few days. Picture of harequin ichthyosis NOT WORK SAFE IN ANY WAY DEAR MOTHER OF GOD.

Not only did he survive it into adulthood, but he participates in triathlons and has raised a shitton of money for skin disorder charities. He survives on large amounts of oral retinoids and has to consume, at minimum 7000 calories a day. Much of that is consumed intravenously at night.

He impressed me because he started with one of the most shittiest and debilitating gene's in the human genome and suffers everyday because of it, yet ended up accomplishing a lot more than even the most healthiest of us could obtain. Also puts into perspective how much of a shitstain the rest of us are on the human scale of surrogate goals.
