scorched earth boris. who knew? and wtf.

scotland must be worried he'll suspend parliament up there as well.  wtf.  calculated move. is there going to be people in the streets protesting? general strike? anything? seems an ideal time to go all french about it and get in the streets and throw some shit.

also, 'temporary' suspending parliament.. let's hope it's only temporary.

your queen's a worthless old hag for not saving her country from these right wing retards

clearly shes a useless fuck and all her money can be confiscated and used to pay for roads immediately and the royal bloodline can be officially called quits, they're nothing more than plebs now, and no more TV time for their babies

The queens political power is purely theoretical, the moment she wields it would signal the end of the monarchy. The best she can do is wear a sassy hat or broach.

Wish she did though. 2 birds 1 stone

Parliament gets suspended every year, its nothing new.

There may be some protests but I don't believe we will go "french" and fuck shit up.

Its just the timing of it this year, the remain camp arguing that parliament should sit so that they can have another go at calling it all off...

They've had 3.5 years to sort this out and to be honest i'm just fed up of hearing about it.

If suspending parliament allows a deal of some sort to go through then its probably the best (and last) shot we have, otherwise it is no deal.

Sorry BCM, but this shitshow has legs for years. Brexit cancelled? Brexiters will be crying treason and marching in the streets. No deal? The exact same backstop, money and other withdrawal negotiations with the EU will still have to happen if there's going to be a trade deal with the EU. The only thing that would put us all out of our misery would be an agreed withdrawal, but that seems like the least likely outcome by far.

I was thinking through this the other day.

If Corbyn and his team had agreed to support Theresa May's deal when she agreed to step down, we would have left the EU by now with the deal.

There could have already been a general election (or one just about to happen) and Corbyn *could* be in power.

Bullshit, the standard prorogation is a handful of days, usually less than a week. This is nearly a month.

Yeah, there doesn't seem to be any agreed duration of prorogation.  It seems he just plucked the idea of 5 weeks out of his hair.

Quick googling suggests the last 5 week prorogation was when the 2nd world war ended!

Which ones? The so-called business people aren't happy with this. Not at all. The rich will be poorer because of a no deal brexit.

Unlikely that De pfeffel's plan is going to work... massively pissing off the majority of the HOC before a completely inevitable confidence vote?

Whether corbz chooses before or after the suspension is anyone's guess.

At least he can put maximal pressure on EU this way. Or rather, make people (mainly brexiteers) believe he did all he could.
