Slowly listening to your suggestions. Recent likes:

Tom Tom Club's debut album should have been known to me since I'm a huge Talking Heads fan. I really love this album.

Yellow Magic Orchestra's BGM is good, but Technodelic is fantastic.

Savant's Stationary Dance / Sensible Music is exceptional in its modern sound. Really dig it.

I'm Sure there's going to be some overlap from previous posters but here's my 1981 roundup:

Abba: The Visitors

B-52's: Mesopotamia

Cabaret Voltaire: Red Mecca

Heaven 17: Penthouse and Pavement

Modern English: Mesh and Lace

OMD: Architecture and Morality

Psychedelic Furs: Talk Talk Talk

Siouxsie & The Banshees: JuJu

Prince: Controversy

Go Gos: Beauty and the Beat

You might want to check out this music blog, they put out a great 10-disc mixtape of 1981 music which covers basically everything worth listening to, and then some

This is cool! However, I'd rather listen to full albums than listen to mixes. I literally take suggestions given in this thread and listen to full albums or both sides of 12"s/7"s. I was never into shuffled playlists or the like.

Right now I'm still loving YMO, Nick Mason, Rush and Tom Tom Club, but I'll be listening to all new stuff tonight.
