It's weird that this has now just popped up, had the same thing on my recommended Youtube playlist last week too. Bought their album straight away - It's Depeche Mode meets Talking Heads meets Duran Duran all rolled into one: https://alliance2.bandcamp.com/album/1987

Yeah I've noticed a general interest in Soviet era synth pop and electronic music but I too saw that specific video pop on reddit a week or so ago.

Here's a good one I heard last year

New album from WATMM member Zephyr Nova, this time delving more into industrial synthpop/new wave elements. On their own these dewy-eyed aesthetic retreads can be trite and downtrodden, but this is a fresh AF, unironic blending of the aforementioned! It's seriously awesome, and I had to make a topic for this lest it sink into the ether. Cover art is by WATMM user Grain Bastard. Some preview tracks:

The 4th entry in my “…While You Can” series of releases. This time also featuring a remastered version of my older track called Bacon Mushrooms as a “bonus track”. Gear used: Minilogue, Reface DX, Digitakt, Maschine MK3, Volca Keys and Volca Drum (which I always sequence with Digitakt) + various effect units. Mixing and mastering done in Cubase.

Here's Depeche Mode appearing on Sweden's Casablanca music programme in 1982:

Anyone else listen to this yet? Really good, reminds of Laurel Halo and early Grimes (i.e. pre-Art Angels)...has that nice balance between more accessible poppy stuff and more experimental techno/electronic production.
