the right though are very forgiving and i'm sure will ignore this impediment and just attack his policies.

ha. the circus has no rules.

and the left will forgive anything he says or does because they want to get rid of trump.

cheap shot at a guy who stutters. very impressive.

In a country where political ads feature porn stars accusing the sitting president of lack of stamina in bed, this is almost civilized.

Wisconsin Governor Effectively Reschedules Tuesday's Primary Election

https://www.npr.org/2020/04/06/828191015/wisconsin-governor-effectively-reschedules-tuesdays-primary-election

FYI, this just happened TODAY for an election TOMORROW!
If you need any more ammunition to help you understand how fundamentally corrupt and awful republicans are, this is it.
The republicans were refusing to budge on pushing back the election, despite public health warnings. They figured it would be better to force the election at a time of record low voter turnout and fully willing to subject tax-paying voters to an insane risk of being exposed to COVID-19.
I have family in Wisconsin and they said the home-voting process (as per the republican restrictions) would only be seen as valid if those voters were able to do so with proof of an in-person witness... effectively disqualifying anyone who lives alone or is isolated due to quarantine, etc.
Thank god for Tony Evers.
Republicans are just plain evil.

AND... I was afraid something like this would happen...

Wisconsin Supreme Court blocks order by governor to stop Tuesday’s elections in state’s latest whipsaw

https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/wisconsin-governor-suspends-in-person-voting-in-tuesdays-elections-amid-escalating-coronavirus-fears/2020/04/06/9d658e2a-781c-11ea-b6ff-597f170df8f8_story.html

These fucking maniacs are unbelievable. The State Supreme Court went ahead and overturned the executive action and are ordering that tomorrow's election proceed, despite rising covid numbers, a big outbreak in Milwaukee and basically they whole state being given the ultimatum of either risking their fucking lives or doing their constitutionally mandated duty.

I honestly cannot comprehend these fucking psychopaths. Complete monsters.

a complete destruction of our nebulous concepts of 'left' and 'right' is close on the horizon. this is because we have been in a kind of slow-burn crisis for a very long time and no matter how much each camp wants to define itself as unique, all responses are reactionary — from nu-lefty utopianism-lite to nu-conservative nationalism to the overwhelming, suffocating technocratic placations of the center. none of these positions are poised to properly address the issues that face us now, but more importantly, they aren't suited to deal with the pressures that are to come.

there isn't one clear beginning to the crisis nor is there any one defining feature of it, but i have trouble seeing a future that doesn't feature a hard turn towards strong central government and authoritarian tendency. the 'pressures' i mentioned that aren't quite there yet— they seem highly probable to arise, eventually, if not soon. and the kind of politics we will see evolve in response will not fit easily into any one quadrant, but will most likely coalesce into the hard authoritarian right. but even that will be confusing because the policies of Sanders will no longer belong to the left once the pressure increases. borders are more likely to become hard. fortress europe, fortress america, fortress any nation-state that recognizes its need to basically imprison its citizens — economic participants kept captive to keep functioning the economic model we have grown into.

the real fucking problems are global, and our politics are like molasses in their response to issues, and no one we put in office can face up against the political machine in DC that is categorically opposed to any kind of large-scale restructuring. for now. But the pressure is coming, and instead of rationally planning, this country and many, many others have sat on their thumbs for decades, and change is going to come — but not because we have the ability to envision a better world. it will come out of necessity as the complex systems we rely on get close to their breaking point. and it won't be fun for anyone.

we need immediate, decisive action on a global scale.

things are not going to be casual in the coming decades.

who was right. i was right. boom

Well goddamn it. I think the quarantine has numbed me a bit to this but I also know this will hit me a lot harder later at some point. The gravity of it and all. I've been reluctant to be "Bernie or Bust" but the latest Biden allegations have pretty much pushed me away from my previously held sentiment I'd hold my nose and vote Biden.

Plenty of good folks to vote for locally, statewide, and in congress but it looks like I'll be doing a write-in or 3rd party vote for POTUS. I think I'll finally arm up as well, worst case scenario we'll see some vigilante Trump equivalent brownshirts emerging.

still boggles my mind that in the past 4 years the dems couldn't come up with anyone halfway decent to run against the most incompetent president in modern American history. IMO every one of the 2020 candidates were flawed in major ways that left their odds at more or less 50/50 vs. trump.

really sucks because I don't like Biden either.. but what choice do I have?

Well, so much for my ballot. Mailed it on Monday, but that doesn't matter now. I just wished Wisconsin could have gone that same route - at least have all mail-ins.

What a shitty year this turned out to be. Mainly because of the pandemic, but still.

Maybe people who inevitably get sick from being around others while voting will sue the state supreme court justices.  They'd have to prove that they got sick from voting, though...
