Here's me playing Aphex Twin "Rhubarb" on a pedal steel.

This is classssssss.

I was recently at a gig with Heartbreaker and BJ cole, where they played the Eno Album Apollo with landing video. Was same vibe as this.

If that gig ever comes to your city I'd highly recommend it.

Thanks everyone.

Cool stuff @chassis - Eno is the man!

Check out Daniel Lanois "Belladonna" album for more ambient steel too!! You might dig it....

Cheers.

Just for fun

That's beautiful - I actually like it MORE than the original - that distinctive steel pedal sound gives it such a melancholic feeling...

Thank you @Joyrex, your kind words made my day.

I am getting the sense that perhaps I should explore pedal steel ambient some more, gonna put some serious thought into it. I appreciate all the feedback here!

I'd love to hear more reinterpretations of SAW II's tracks in this manner!

OH! Boards of Canada Steel Pedal! Turquoise Hexagon Sun would be amazing I bet!

There's something about ambient Hawaiian sounds that's just really cool.  Warm and lonely at the same time.  Like a solitary walk along the coast on a summer night after a humid day.  It's like a really peaceful kind of gloom.

YES...

that sort of tragic/nostalgic vibe is what attracted me to the instrument in the first place.

I think I would happily pay for more in this vein. Do you have any other work like this on bandcamp or such?

Not quite yet. I'll be sure to post again when I get some more pieces ready. I appreciate the listen!
