Guest Posted September 22, 2019 Share Posted September 22, 2019 was pointed out here that the beginning of "recks on" sounds a lot like this: run dmc sample at 1:55 is used in a really similar way near the end of "the plc": also there's sort of a whirling sound at the end of YJY UX that sounds like the sound at 6:18 here: thinking of cases where they don't just sample other music--but sort of "recreate" a moment from some else's track instead of twisting it into something completely different. idk if that distinction makes sense. Could equally easily have been sampled from Hollis Crew tbf. Of course the DMX was used in loads of other stuff but that sound in Pen Expers is well characteristic of the drums in those 2 tunes.
