He released it on a Detroit label under an alias so everyone would think it was.

Chasers = :catghost:

Fuck man I’m gonna have to go Kenny Larkin digging in the crates nowww. Bloke has had incredible quality control across the decades.

That Daniel Bell trawk is juicy. Wasn’t always a fan of his signature bleeps n clicks, but when he got the rhythm track synced in succinctly with it’s accompanying elements & groove it’s (usually) just exactly perfect

It doesn't make good home listening but it's very intense a club. Have you heard his Button down mind mix cds from years ago? He is an incredible dj.

He did some killer house stuff too. Some people would rip your eyes out for a copy of this.

No Dilla postings at all? I smiled at the lack of Eminem and Kiss but no Dilla?!

(the story behind that video is amazing, Jerry Stackhouse was extorted so they could use his house to films scenes)

And close enough:

Dilla's work is well worth a thread of his own, where do you even begin?

These mixes have rolled through the tests of time, Jeff Mills cut-n-pasting all sorts:

Kevin Saunderson's Deep Space Radio rrrrocks

3rd Ear put out some thumping beatdown releases, too many good tracks to lists individually. Vol 1 below & the Vol 2 ep's are mint

FXHE is a wormhole, what a catalogue. Think Big Strick is a cousin of Omar S, thumping gear, gotta kip but someone to comeback to

@Enthusiast That’s Huckaby is heavy. You caught me mid post with Urban Tribe, just lemme tonk these quickly

Long w/out meandering, trance with a small t, rolling, speaking from experience Dowsing sounds ridiculous through a good rig. Compression is an art on tracks like that. Whatever people’s take on the wankfest that is dj culture, mixing longer tracks allows you the wriggle room to roam & weave around blending transitions so that each record become bigger than the sum of its respective parts. Huckaby is a universe.

Different groove, my Ma turned me onto this Temptations tune first, swwwwwwing

Detroit title-related cheating

Just to contradict myself from earlier, KDJ’s shorter version of Don’t You Want My Love is more succinct than the extended, boring-intro one released. Guaranteed w.m.d.

Gotta kip, Urban Tribe tomorrow
