I think his music is better than his reputation on WATMM suggests

if you add finite number to minus infinity it's still minus infinity

@sisforawesome I actually quite enjoy many of his tunes, a lot of what you posted there are my favs. I understand the criticisms some people have though.

Flexing habitual, Kirlian Selections, red extensions of me, aBliss and welcome to Chicago might not be the most original albums but they are really well made and I return to them quite a bit.

The problem is you have projects like opus at the end of everything, nothing is real etc etc that sound like watered down advert music.

Red Extensions Of Me is a solid classic, couldn't care for the rest of his discography tho

I remember enjoying Piety of Ashes a fair bit. He was also pretty good live when he and Cygnus opened for Plaid.

The problem with my man Benn is the way he talks in his blog etc etc. Also he has made some good tunes but they are buried in a pile of mediocre and lukewarm pieces of shit that sound so unoriginal that I can't believe someone actually put this out. Take Kirlian Selections for example, great breakcore tracks but the other stuff around it is just incredibly bland.

The guy also had some shit song and album titles

Oh god his blog. Not looked in years, this is gonna be delicious

Which one of you is doing this to his blog.

there's also an infinite amount of numbers between any 2 numbers once you add a decimal point.

I asked him when we would get more info on the album on his Twitter and he responded:

"In a few weeks once we get a chance to make sure all the manufacturing is satisfactory. Also working on a video for a formal announcement but the render times may take until 2044. 😅"

I find very many on his songs to be excellent, don't demand absolute uncompromising originality as a prerequisite to enjoyment, couldn't care less about what he says on the internet, and simply ignore the songs that veer too far into easy listening territory for my own tastes.

I reached out to this guy a while back to see if we could license one of his tracks. His agent/manager responded saying he didn't want to press anything to vinyl because of the environmental impact of vinyl production, but if I had a way to manufacture vinyl that was environmentally friendly (i.e. not using vinyl) he'd consider it. I replied saying we could release something on cassette only and just use recycled cassettes (ie. recording over previously used cassettes). Strangely, I never heard back.

That recycled cassette idea is a good one. Or even something through duplication.ca - the shells are new but they use NOS tape. It's a hell of a lot more environmentally friendly than vinyl. I applaud his take (also TBH vinyl pressing turnaround time is getting crazy for many) but I'm kind of skeptical of how much he wants to seek out an alternative.
