The Future Sound of London - Cascade 2020 (RSD release)

Ten track release taking the original track and re-recording it, expanding it, and creating new pieces loosely based on the same theme and atmosphere. The last two RSDs have seen My Kingdom and Yage receive the same treatment to largely successful results, be really interested to see how they reapproach something from the Lifeforms era.

As with the past few FSOL RSDs, it's very likely this will receive an expanded CD / digital release a few weeks down the line, which I'll be waiting for as it'll be cheaper, have more material, and not be split down the middle in a way that really doesn't work with FSOL.

Yeah I'll wait for the CD, the last two releases had bonus tracks not on the vinyls.  They're gonna break my wallet this year.  Who wants to buy a PS4?

Cascade blew my mind on release, it was so different and so advanced compared to Accelerator, instantly made them my favourite group, I couldn’t wait for Lifeforms to be released. Wondering how they will tackle this redo, can’t see them topping the original single with all it’s parts

It is? Last announcement was it being delayed to 20th June. CD and digital still due to follow the week after RSD.

So when's this out then?  FSOL's previous reimaginings of their Dead Cities tracks (Yage, My Kingdom) were brilliant.  It's great to see them going back to Lifeforms this time.

FSOLDigital is struggling with traffic again though... which is odd as this never used to happen on release day.

Excellent!  But are you kidding, fsoldigital is the slowest website on the internet.  It's like it's being hosted on one of Brian and Gaz's old synths.

Cascade 2020 is vey good. A bit darker than the original ep, but lots of sounds harking back to 1993. 
 

I love how FSOL continues to create branches on their own family tree. So exciting to travel with them.
